Sausage Gravy1 lb ground breakfast sausage4 cups whole milk (2% can be substituted without changing the amount)1/3 cup all purpose flour Salt and pepper to taste Brown the sausage in a large skillet (I prefer to use a cast iron skillet) until cooked through (do not drain). Lower heat to low and sprinkle flour over the cooked sausage. Mix the flour into the sausage and heat on low until flour is cooked (about 5 to 10 minutes). Add half of the milk and increase heat to medium. Stir constantly until the gravy starts to thicken. Add the remainder of the milk and continue to stir until reaching your desired thickness. Add salt and pepper to taste.
