43. David Perez: How Honoring Your Body Can Help Reduce Pain

from HYDRATE with Tracy Duhs · host Tracy Duhs

Why do we experience pain? What role does inflammation play in the pain we experience? Did you know that your skin absorbs everything you apply to it? In this episode of HYDRATE, David Perez and I discuss the ways that we experience pain and how that experience should be different. No matter the age that we are, we all experience some sort of pain, for which 95% of it is due to our body responding to inflammation. This inflammation is caused by more than just what we eat. Plus, David emphasizes honoring our body and being careful of what we put on our skin. As most of us are unaware of the transdermal delivery system, which is when the skin absorbs what is applied to it into our bloodstream, being aware of the toxins and preservatives that we have to avoid applying to our skin is crucial to avoiding any sort of inflammation or pain in the near future.  David Perez is a humanitarian, philanthropist, and serial entrepreneur with over 36 years of executive management experience working in, establishing, and financing start-ups that are focused on nanotechnology, nutrition, telecom, software technology, wireless, and finance. His true passion is saving lives, disaster relief, and logistics operations for NGOs.     What we discuss...   02:30: David’s experience and contributions during hurricane Katerina 11:55: Learning more about nurish.me 12:29: What part does inflammation play in the pain we experience? 14:27: How to honour your body 15:20: Taking responsibility for your life 18:02: How David discovered curcumin 21:40: Tracy’s investment in David’s company 22:41: Turmeric vs Curcuma; what’s the difference? 26:59: The dangers of contaminants in supermarket supplements 27:48: Regulations of the dietary supplement industry 35:28: How to look for a supplement you can trust 41:16: How are your fruits and vegetables picked? 47:59: Research on cancer and circumambulating 52:59: What is rice bran? 58:05: What should you use for chronic pain? 1:03:02: The five laws of stratospheric success 1:10:04: David’s experience in jail + figuring out his destiny 1:14:40: The power of listening 1:17:39: More about David and his products   Related Links / Products Mentioned Website: nurish.me  Instagram: @david.is.grateful  Products: Nurish.me - Tracy Duhs Podcast Special and Earth Echo Cacao Bliss
