43: Sergio Varela and X

Sergio Varela of the band Thorns of Sin and makeup artist X joined Mark and Hannah for a very metal show.Sergio grew up in Colombia, where he got a taste of hot chocolate with cheese and Metallica, and got in trouble in catholic school for having his hair long. Inspired by classic metal, black metal and death metal he recorded the 2015 album Destroy The Light by playing all the instruments himself and inspired by classic shredders he is gearing up to tour and record another album in 2019.X (not X the punk band or X Japan) talked about meeting Hannah for the first time and bonding over classic rock, her passion for makeup, which led through some wild digressions including Mark’s experiments with Rasberry Splat, how all eyebrows can be improved (except Hannah’s) and how her customers see her concentration and commitment to excellence as off-putting, as she’s too cool to fake a smile….There was some talk about guilty pleasures too and who everyone’s favorite Spice Girl is…
