This version diverts from the 1987 film as it follows a woman (Odessa A'zion) who stumbles across a puzzle box while looting an eccentric (and sadistic) billionaire's secret stash. Little does she know that each step of solving the puzzle summons extra-dimensional heralds of hell who only crave the extremes of experience...mostly pain.
