Hier lernen wir Mary Anning kennen, die als Kind einen Blitzeinschlag überlebte und später eine bedeutende Fossilienforscherin wurde. Bereits mit 12 Jahren entdeckte sie das erste vollständige Ichthyosaurus-Skelett. Trotz ihrer fehlenden Schulbildung und fehlender Anerkennung zu Lebzeiten trug Mary durch weitere spektakuläre Funde erheblich zur Entwicklung der Paläontologie bei. Heute erinnert eine Statue in ihrer Heimat an ihren Beitrag zur Wissenschaft und ihren unerschütterlichen Einsatz.
