Vaativaa, vaikeaa ja epätodennäköistä muutosta tehdessä hyvin haastavat tavoitteet ja niiden pakottava toteuttaminen on huono yhdistelmä. Jos vaatimasi muutos edellyttää suurta kehitysloikkaa, muutos ei todennäköisesti onnistu – tavoittelet suurta edistystä, kun pitäisi pyytää ja tyytyä maltilliseen, jopa vähäiseen etenemiseen valitsemassasi suunnassa. Muiden ihmisten kanssa tehtävässä yhteistyössä isot muutokset taas tarkoittavat usein väkivaltaa tai harhaista rynnistystä, jolla ei pääse maaliin asti. Pyrkikäämme pyytämään, välttäkäämme pakottamista.
