Nixie explores the archetypes of The Maiden in today's society. For centuries patriarchy has led us to believe through Disney feature films such as Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast that women should compare, compete, and manipulate each other to gain control or the "prince charming". The patriarchal programming refers to women embodying masculine roles to gain a sense of power. In comes the Do-er mentality. The maiden has been masked in our society. She has been suppressed as the creator.
