And now coming at ya from Yellowknife Canada from one of our living rooms, we're talking movies and sometimes TV shows with spoilers included folks Is it is our chair to use wait is that is that based off like the armchair quarterback and saying is that right? Chris we spoke about this for are you sure? Yes? What's positive though you wrote the joke?

Oh god damn it. All right, you're right. I'm featuring Chris Godin and James MacKay Welcome back everybody to another episode of armchair reviews. My name is Chris Godin and I'm James MacKay Fuck yeah, everybody's back.

I'm back back in the hood back from his honeymoon back from a They can't show the cast on how long was this big guy's song 20 days, okay? The longest vacation I've ever had in my life actually yeah cool. Yeah, actually actually actually even like what I lived with my parents You know I had family vacations. This is the longest one.

Wow. What do you get up to? I get like a brief like a couple things. Yeah, I talked about a little bit But yeah, so we went to Europe and we went to Europe Ireland Netherlands and France cool Do a couple things in each place.

You know did some generic tourist stuff. Yep. That's new Yeah, I like we went give a couple quick highlights for each place Ireland We went to the Cliffs of Moher if you don't know what those are I suggest everyone up them up immediately cliffs up what mohar mohar mohar Oh, he are all right. There's like iconic cliffs on the edge of the island on the ocean and there's been lots of movies and TV shows Film there Harry Potter Lord of the Rings game of thrones Vikings to name a few I'm all had some some one's like the cliffs of Dover stuff filming Yeah, we went to the Guinness factory in Ireland as well.

We went to professional rugby match there That was awesome. That's pretty cool. It was cheap everyone's high energy They're like fired up for it and it was like it was a professional match between two Irish teams So it was like the Dublin team versus like a team from Limerick and Cork, which is just south of Dublin But everything's so close to him like 100 kilometers away, but they're like rivals. Right?

So it'd be it'd be like going to see like a Montreal Canadiens versus Trauma beliefs or like Yeah, I don't know. It's sports. I learned. Yeah Generic sports rivalry It's rowdy is fun Irish people like to have a good time higher Since when yeah, that's an Amsterdam.

We took pretty easy there We just relaxed because we were like super busy in Ireland the whole time So we also did like the generic things we went to the red light district we had Did like a canal tour of the city which was like a lot of fun it was catered pizza beer Hey, it's in beer the real It's a real Dutch experience. Yeah, I love the pizza dude everywhere. It's like everywhere What kind of like cuisine the restaurant is there's a piece on there next to yeah, and like and we went to Copshops But it was sold out sold out for three weeks Oh, you have to book tickets three weeks in advance to get in there to just to be sad to the and Frank I was like he's sad to be sad and He really said it's cool. It's history learn about some cool things But it was it was cool like see for those I was a little bit bummed out I like we're to history so I was like I'm gonna go see but and then yeah, it's we did all the generic French things I feel tower art to try and to lose no today and kithi drool cat combs Spooky, but it's a spooky like spooky spooky, but at the same time, it's like Where the walls are made up of bones and skulls and yeah Beep femurs and skulls and then the odd other like piece of finger or whatever else bone they got lying around there fresh Boggies there too.

I don't know how they got there. Yeah, definitely didn't put them there Yeah, but it was pretty cool like you go down like you only get to go to like the very generic You go down to just like the the main like level very base of it So it's miles of time miles like it's all the way under there's like the whole Paris and it's different levels Yeah, so like we were 25 meters down below the ground little chill there. It's 14 degrees Celsius Apparently the temperature never changes doesn't matter what the temperature is about ground. It's always 14 degrees Spooky cat comin I believe you and I was like I was reading reviews before we went there Yeah, 60 million dead bodies are down here cool But someone was like no like great experience, but it's freezing down there.

It's for only 14 degrees and I'm like 14 degrees dude like we didn't have a summer day warmer than 40 Like I dare you you piece of shit and it was also like way above seasonal temperatures for Paris So we didn't bring appropriate clothing. It was like 28 degrees in whom it oh, so he's like sweating that sex I was like yeah, bring me down there. Yeah, he's oh Just keeps me nice and cool Picture that I probably haven't shown you out because Carly took it but so we're like down in the catacombs And it's like so I have like I have a say like a foot and a half of femurs and then they'll have like a layer of skulls and then I'm a foot and a Half femurs and a layer of skulls and really that's like a fun party dip mix that you bring to like football They had an actual Like aesthetic designer when they were putting the bones down there. You know, I mean like it's not like there's just piles of bones Like it's not nice folks.

Yeah. Yeah, so yeah, there's like a skull like facing out perfectly and I got pictures I was like kind of like a good thing. I like it, but how dare you man that was somebody that was somebody man that was somebody man I have somebody's daughter bro. Yeah, you don't know what though.

Yeah, yeah Yeah, so I like that was pretty cool. No, those were yeah, I think for this month. It is fitting Yeah, the catacombs are sweet. I would like they're super cool I was very interested in them before we went but I was disappointed that you're only allowed to go into so little because You know me like I want to go explore the whole thing.

I want to go down you could just do like what they did in that Horror movie. Yeah, that's so blue. That's the one I know and that's what I was thinking because I was like I just need to find someone though bring me to stay down there But then they'll figure it out for you. Yeah, but I mean I can't I'm there with a group of friends cool I'll do that because then they all die and I survive.

It's not a big deal by them They're fun. I wonder why you could just end up burning alive in a truck Oh, okay, that's what I'm saying with friends a little bit or getting friends Why if there's a legal ramifications and you go live once you go to Europe with your wife you come back alone It looks bad, you know friends who carries a guy no ties to guys Recording now you hear your first Help Saying I'm gonna kill you in the catacombs and leave you down there saying you might die and I make it out alive and it's not a big deal Okay Everyone goes along with their lives or a single person who is faced or do they? Really? Oh, yeah, those are some cool things.

I would definitely recommend going to Ireland Of all three yeah, definitely Ireland. There's lots history there. There's lots to do. It's a really small Island so you can go there for a week rent car and you can see the whole island and like you make your own trip out of whatever You're interested in seeing more you can literally just stay in Dublin for a week And you'll be occupied with stuff to do every day.

Okay, there's a wide variety of stuff I think so like we went went to Castle over to the brewery the kinesper either the Jameson distillery there's the old kill Mungold jail. I think it's called. It's in Gaelic so I can't really pronounce it properly, but that's got a bunch history Go to a professional rugby match like you can see food right over the ocean and you get all the pub food you want It's what they live for You can go golfing like you do whatever you want. It's great and people are super friendly there nice So that would be definitely go there for a while.

Yeah, cool. Yeah, yeah, and now you're back. I'm back back to business back to this place This place my family right home Yellow knife, you know, it's so great So great, dude, so great. Well, well, you've been gone.

I've been keeping the shit locked down a couple solo casts Did one last week on I think that was which I crushed the last two days. Yeah, you finished as well. Yeah In two days like it drags you in doesn't yeah It looks pretty quick. I mean I told you this yesterday, but like I was a little bit skeptical going into it because I'm like it's Horr genre series So I'm like hmm like a two-hour horror movie has a tough time keeping you really interested and like on the edge of your seat for All two hours unless it's done really well.

Mm-hmm It for example is one of those movies where you're kind of you know locked in like the whole time But there's other horror movies where it misses the market it starts to get old throughout the movie But this they did that really good job of like keeping you interested for 10 hours essentially like a more than ten hours Yeah, 70 minute episodes or whatever so And it did a really good it did really good job the storytelling I think that the writers had and that the way they displayed it with each character kind of having their own little story Yeah, but all being part of one was done really well. Yeah Yeah, and we also talked about the ending was kind of a little bit corny at the end. Yeah, that's why I said that I mean It's gonna be dark for so long. There has to be like something They can't just be like oh everybody dies It's like Stephen or something he figures out now they know that you know what I mean?

Yeah, but and then they all died and like no one else is gonna move into the house and then it destroys it in the sense So you might as well make people feel good about something. Yeah, it was a couple stuff. I'll feel good ending. Yeah Yeah, I think they wrapped up this the Crane family story, but I think they'll be another one I think with different people yes Characters that the Crane family has interacted with Yeah, I'm not sure I was kind of thinking I'm like are they gonna go back and go like the Hill family That'd be cool or are they gonna like branch out and try to take stories from like his books Like Stephen's books because that would kind of be cool.

Oh, yeah Or they just gonna go completely different like I said just whole new family Mm-hmm. I don't think they'll do it. I don't think of something fun. Yeah, I don't know if they'll do like full prequel with the Hill Yeah, I kill history.

Yeah, I feel like that'd be really cheesy But that'd also be a really easy place to go. Yeah, we'll see I guess whenever they get it out This one just came out so yeah, but it's been pretty successful So yeah, I was gonna say like those are season two. Mm-hmm. I just finally started watching it the second season Yeah, so we crushed it across it already No, it's what there's but like the season two had only been off like two weeks and they already started I don't think they started going but the greenlit season three after season two being off like two weeks I'm like, yep, we've seen enough we want it.

We want it now. We're just good. I love that show Yeah, I've been re-watching it. It is a slow burn You have to be invested with it.

It's one of those shows. They have to watch yeah, and not just have it on the background Yeah, exactly like and I was to have currently never talking about it and Devin was around he's like Oh, yeah, like only watch the first episode like I couldn't really get into it I'm like dude just watch at least four episodes if you don't like it after episodes Then don't watch it But I'm guaranteed you at that point in time you'll be hard because it's a similar genre to what he does like so You'll get into it. Just give it a chance. Yeah, I'm on like episode four or something like that So how about the first season?

Okay, yeah, Devin hasn't seen the first season Yeah, that's what I'm like once you get into it You know the characters and you're into that story then you're good. But yeah, it is a slow burn. What else? Oh, I got a guest host in He did yeah, Tyler's here.

Mr. Tyler Pawn shout out to him good buddy Tyler Pawn. Yeah, we checked out venom while you were in your Nance venom time I believe Mmm. No, you're not Ireland.

I might have been an island. You're an island. Yeah, you might have been an F7 you filmed or when you recorded Yeah, I saw a venom in Ireland. So you actually seen it before it came out in Canada.

Yeah, yeah, that's pretty cool It came on like a Tuesday there. That's really weird. Yeah, I saw it on like one Thursday. That's cool What do you think about him?

We had like we put on a long podcast. Yeah, it was fun though You did a good job first first time doing it might probably get him back here for an episode for another guest or you do three some Hey, I like to the movie for the movie But based on things that I understand like I'm not a comic book nerd like either you guys are History stuff So I don't really know what the background of enemies But I understand that it's was different in the movie than it was in the comics. Yes And so that I understand that people had an issue with I did like the movie my one big knock on it is Vennigore Bite the dude's head off in front of me rip them in half like do you gotta do he is he is like a Yeah, he is an anti hero in some stories, but we still bad. Yeah, yeah, yeah leans towards the bad spectrum exactly But that's what we had said to like although it's it's trying to Rear entrance into the MCU.

That's why they've done it down. I think no absolutely. Yeah, it I Like the special facts are super cool humor was there already a big fan So I was excited to see him in the movie. Have you seen a movie upgrade?

Oh, no, okay It's good come Fucking I bring that stuff because I saw this meme or something that upgrade and venom were pretty much the identical movies So I've created a bit before so much this guy he'd come like there's his head pretty much and he gets Comes a quadriplegic and then something gets in like a chip gets implanted in him and it controls all his water functions from the neck down And he pretty much knows like kung fu one shit like that right away And it's like a super mega chip that he ends up like talking with it. Yeah She'll be so it's again like this foreign body going into you and taking control of your actions Yeah, so that's my one and especially with the main actor in upgrade is Tom Hardy like diet time Tom Hardy Oh, it's a commercial green. Yeah, he looks identical to it. So it's so funny It was funny.

I forgot to mention that in the in a venom podcast, but it was funny to look at it that way Yes, it was rather amusing. Yeah, and then the end of credit scene was interesting to me with Mr. Carlson my boy Carnage so yeah, it's Cassidy. Yeah.

See how that goes. See where that takes us next dumb fucking wig. Yeah, what a dumb fucking way How dare you side-so-bob looking motherfucker? That's first thing I thought it was a So but I guess they're trying to make a comic book accurate with like what they he is known for his red hair Yeah, but at the same time like if he just had a little bit of red and like he had we hairls in his natural hairline Yeah, so much better 20 year old You know it's almost on fire with this stupid fucking wagon now you see me.

Yeah, I see to you know Yeah, yeah, holy fuck What do you know? I like what he's interested to see where it goes like what he and Tom no be like we have some fun with it Like time understanding we think you can put the crazy and no problem. He's a good easy. Thank you Put the crazy absolutely what he's gonna put yeah, it's gonna.

Hologna. I'm always crazy fucking I'm gonna be with Carnage. Yes. Yes.

He's gonna hologna. It's gonna be it's gonna be PG 13 down So there'll be more about humor than him really just a good like a funny crazy and it's too bad Iconic murdering lunatic. Yeah, which is what we want dumb. Yeah, anyways What are we here talking about this week James?

We are here to talk about the new hologna You the Microsoft word like the process where you type out stuff. Yeah What's it called? We're here to see the new Halloween the 2018 sequel sequel yes, it is a sequel I was gonna say remake but that's why it's a sequel folks not a remake This is not a remake it is a sequel direct sequel to 1978 movie of the same title Halloween Halloween It's called Halloween this one as well. Yeah, you're expected another difference, but you know, it's like 34 times been just Halloween Yeah, yeah, 40 years later.

Well, it actually is day almost actually I mean it's close But I mean the day that the movie's yeah, yeah, but it's yeah, it's like a four-year anniversary type thing That's what can cool though. It is pretty nice how they line it up like that too. It is and it's perfect for this time You're cuz it's spook till we're we get to do it for you guys get to be the trend. Yeah, I love this over He trend that's why I got I had to do an episode last week.

I have spookiness. Yeah spookiness Yeah, this is a little different type of spooky than haunting a pill house though. Yeah, it's very different very different same genre Ish different class I'd say I'm gonna say ish for now. Okay.

I'll let it is like we'll get into that later Yeah, have you seen the original 1978 one time one time for me to yeah I was really trying to think of it today because I was talking to guys at work. Yeah, I went saw it last night Yeah, cool cool. Like I was it over. I was a career the first one.

Yeah, I was young when I saw the first one It's like when I saw the original yeah, I was like nine or ten years old Yeah, just a young lad. Yeah I was like talking about that last week too with like watching horror movies at a young age Yeah, and I remember actually watching not like the old school ones of like Halloween two Halloween season the witch Halloween four It was something like it was Halloween H2O. I came like 1998 or something like that and I went to my sister Tamara I went to video flex was right down the street from our place next to like a convenience store And there's like it was really like nothing to do when I'm watch and I gave it between some like family kind of Hugsie dumb stupid fucking movie that I didn't want to watch it. You should just do it and I saw that I saw how many show I'm like hey, let's just let's watch this Funny happy I'm just kidding.

I don't want to and she's just like what's we did okay? Take the thing takes the movie we go back we rent it we watch it ten minutes in I'm seeing fucking young Joseph Gordon Love it fucking turn around with a goddamn axe blade through his face. I'm like seven not Joseph I know yeah, I was like oh fuck what if I'm looking even after that? We met after the axe the blade wounds the face miraculously survive Oh yeah, I can do anything you look that good Remember that to renting experience.

Yeah, I knew I was in deep shit after that scene And like I went to bed that night and I had like you know those like those wall murals they have as a kid like It's like action fingers are like fucking like the word players It's like actually wall de goals. Yeah, it's like Disney characters like that I have to sports players and like right about my bed was like the hockey players and I had the Jason mask Similar to my wires had that right about my bed and it's like maybe pissing pants It's layers feels bad Funny kind of relatable story to little kids watching scary movies that they shouldn't be watching So in the dispatcher room in the fire hall like we have TV obviously yeah And since it's been the start of new school year every year they do tours for Great school kids and like elementary school probably all the way up to like grade five or whatever and One of the other dispatchers was working. I guess while There's they were doing a tour and I think the kids were like seven years old or whatever Yeah, AMC on her HBO something along the lines and there was like a zombie movie I'm not I kind of remember which one you couldn't recall but there's a lot of intense like blood and gore No, I wasn't walking dead. It was a movie but it was like it was just an intense blood and gore and They were like filing the kids into the dispatcher to be like this is what happens here the answer follows turned out but And like get all these kids and there's like 20 kids a classroom full and then all of a sudden like one girl's like Just so funny maybe crack up when I heard about that It's like that one would happen.

I never know like what we're watching like I've been watching stuff on Netflix there and it's like tits are out or whatever You know what I mean boobies so and like anyone can walk by or like even walk by the window like fire only look at it If they're talking taxpayer money Watch a soft core perm burn Yeah, so I'm like I just thought it was funny because I like that would fucking have got you good little one got you good you Oh shit, I fucked you for life. Yeah, I hope you have nightmares tonight your parents go forward your therapy Yeah, so it's just funny really story that I'm Funny relatable story. Yeah, I'm right Peter pants. No you've been to pants.

It's character Does either that ruins you There is no there's no middle. Oh fuck. Yeah, so this Halloween sequel Halloween 2018 Yeah, cuz they get rid of all the other movies other than the actual the original I mean that's where we're starting every sequel every remake for the wrong ones on the ones that's a seven says nine Those are those remakes are toast Later Halloween two three four five and whatever ones after that irrelevant done. It's to own resurrection done Yeah, so in the canon right now.

It's just the two just the two just the two and this is 40 years in the movie and 40 years in Real life. I mentioned earlier. Yes. That's pretty cool.

It's cool. It's cool. Let's go do that and we get back the OG Low-restroed is in the Namely Curtis. Jamie the Curtis right for everyone else.

Yeah, she's 59. Yeah, she's oh She looks every day of it in this movie. Yeah, yeah, cuz they try to make her look haggard as fuck obviously Absolutely, I think I think we had her back checker here earlier to give me an article on Forbes I was saying how Halloween's busting up all these records right now. I saw that just busting up And one of them is having a lead there is a horror be the oldest thing It's a really cool this female lead in a horror movie.

Yeah, there was like Opening best like opening weekend for like a female lead best opening weekend for a horror movie There was like three or four facts. I saw them on Twitter too. Yeah, they're all it's on the floor if you Google Something box office like Halloween 2018 for the first articles there. They have a bunch of facts.

I'm pretty sure You check in at the curses Twitter Sweet man, I'm trying to okay. Yeah, so biggest horror movie opening with a female lead biggest movie opening with a female lead over 55 Hey, second biggest October movie opening ever you know what that's behind venom It's been a minute. No, sorry. Yeah, it is no.

Yeah, they do them. Yeah, it's been a bit. I had 80 million It's open again. This one had 76 and biggest Halloween opening ever was the other fun fact right now.

It's already made over 90 million This was posted yesterday. So pretty neat though. It's what we're saying here. It's doing fucking well It's doing pretty good a lot of bad because it actually came out I think actually a month ago at one of the film festivals fuck came out tip Toronto International Film Festival.

That's a summer 8th It came out tip. Yeah, that's where initially premiered So there's been previews and even Wikipedia synopsis sees about this month ago because I was doing some research for this Couple weeks ago and I came on the Wikipedia page and it's already there my old fuck That's when I learned when I actually came out because I didn't want to spoil myself But somebody already filled in the entire synopsis Okay Wikipedia page out there Just got me good. Um, yeah, it was pretty neat Like it was getting buzzed then so I think there was a lot of expectations from that buzz like there was nothing that I heard Leading up to this movie saying that it was bad. Yeah, it was all pretty much like, yeah, this is this is back to form Yeah, pretty good.

Pretty good. You guys did well. Yep But I think excuse me, that's what the numbers reflect to obviously well for sure But I think it had a lot of expectation to absolutely and this is another movie that's kind of Like it in aspect that it's been such a long time and it was the same thing it like I remember 17 years wasn't it? Or 27 years like 21 or something like that 27 26 feel like it was a 7 is the other 17 or 27 But the years in the movie dates.

Yeah, same as the real life dates, which is just like this movie So it's kind of same aspect and it also reflects it in the numbers as well that they're doing because you have people that watched it when they were Our age were younger 40 years ago. Yeah, and those same people they're now 60 or whatever like essentially like Jimmy the Curtis, right? They're going to watch the movie because if they like same, oh, maybe even if it didn't right It's the same thing as it you had people that watched it when they were our age growing up younger older and now they're going They went back and saw the new one because they want to see it, right? So it's funny.

I don't remember the remake for Friday the 13th having this much more buzz about it. No You and my girls are it's also I don't know. They're just something different about it You know what I mean? Oh, yeah, I remember the original like Friday the 13th and the remake a lot better than I remember the original Halloween Mate probably just because they're on TV like all the time all the time I remember when I said like Spike was a thing and they would have Friday 13th marathon on both in like both Halloween days And Friday the 30th time so yeah, I remember dad and I won't time we watched like the same same slasher live it like so different but very different yeah, and Yeah, that's why I think these are this is a little bit different and you have a pretty high profile actress and Jamie the Curtis You actually used to stuck around in this cool shit.

She's done a lot of movies. Yeah First roles it was obviously 19 if not her first role. Yeah, one of her first roles And so she stuck around she did a lot and now she's back Doing the thing doing the thing doing the original thing, you know, so I was checking here to see if it was her first First movie. Yeah, it was her first movie everything before that is just TV series Yeah, first movie and definitely first like major role major role is her thing cool I did a bunch of other screen movies as well because we've got a babe back then Just saying how do you get how do you get?

How's a young female get cast into horror movies? Yeah? Smoked There What happens Very basic run down the movie kind of starts using Jamie the Curtis doing her fucking shooting routine and stuff at her house like shooting the targets and stuff like that Like that's kind of like opening scenes. Yeah, and then they we go right to meeting the two Like hey guys, we're doing this 2018.

We don't work for the man. Okay, we're not we're Publish our own stuff and we do a podcast podcast. We would know anything about that. No, no, no, no So there's serious journalists.

Yeah, I don't know if it's just like us or serious journalists hitting the hard questions asking the hard questions So man and woman British or some nonsense the British and they so they come to America to Interview my mark. My eyes. They studied his case whatever so they go to the mental institute that he's being kept at For the time being I guess later the next day He's it's basically a prison, but it's like a high-security mental institute Mm-hmm, and so the next day just so happens that he's being transferred to more hardcore facility more hardcore facility Which I think is more of a prison and less of a mental institute Mm-hmm essentially the only reason he's been at this current one for so long is because they're like a national treasure Essentially we have we have to study him right see what's going on so we know what to do in the future what we have You know, mmm. They got nowhere with that after four years because guys say fuck.

Yeah, he can make this They just not to yeah, so anyway, they go there and they meet his doctor They ask him a couple questions and I find either they go and actually meet Michael Myers. He's the new luma's Yeah, they try to provoke him a little bit. I guess if you will yeah And then you can feel the mask and you Michael yeah, and they so the dude somehow guys mask from the DA office Yeah, no idea how and he's like flaunting the mask. We just think of the look of the mask Sorry, so that one's like the same as the first one.

I think it's less white They I think that well, yeah, there's definitely more No, I think they were more inspired by condition. I think they're a little bit of a bad look Can I came over this one? Do you remember that one? No, it's like well, it's the same thing.

He comes back and it's old. Okay. Yeah, either way So yeah, they try to provoke him nothing happens and then later the next night The the next day I guess they're loading all these prisoners into the bus that's going to the new prison and His doctor wants to hop on the bus because he's gonna see his client all the way through to the next hospital He's gonna be the one hand off flags Okay, this is how he gets out the dirt and What do you know all the crazies get loose and the bus driver dies and then they all escape and oh no so Michael's loose Yeah, you have Laurie who's gone meanwhile. You're learning about Laurie's daughter.

She has family and her granddaughter She's definitely a PTSD her house is all boarded up and big time boot trapped boot trap ready to go She obviously has alienated herself Pretty much the point of completion with her daughter and she's still kind of close with the granddaughter There's a granddaughters trying to close her to a granddoh. Yeah, I keep it together The dad's just a funny dad that gets peanut butter on his dick gets peanut butter on his dick and he knows you just usually can protect his family Wacky character they include He's trying to be the hip dad hip-dads humbled. I bet he listens podcast. Yeah, he's listening to this right now You ever put your name?

Screwed yeah, you got fucked up Dave got Yeah, and then yeah, so then Michael Myers breaks loose and he starts doing this thing he starts doing this thing so he tracks down the podcasters Somehow magically instantly gets a mask and then just starts Rampage no and it just happens at its Halloween the day that the transfer happened the day that he broke loose And yeah, that the queen's he deans what the queen's Wow he starts killing like random people just dead He's like trying to get his new group back. He's just getting into the mojo Not a while I was thinking about watching this. I was like this is a 60 year old man. Yeah Yeah, he stomps a dew's head into motion to pumpkin paste into It looks like literally like a squash puree It's one stomp clear.

Holy shit. Yeah He also just slams Like the podcaster dude like against the wall until he dies. Yeah, like four or five times It's all it takes he's alive enough to watch his friend get back next nap. Yeah next time this one actually You're 60 and you're 6 foot 10.

You're fucking me yo bro retard stream Well, yeah, no, he there well he must have been serial killer Strength I guess is on another level. Yeah, he must be he's he's he's spooky man They don't actually ever say like spook city gets shot stabbed. That's fine. It's a pleasure I remember I said much as soon as I happen.

Yeah, she likes shops. Yeah, no, he's fucking fine Dude, I think that's what she's going for to raise one of the main him not kill him because I wanted to do stuff I don't know. I think she probably would have been fine if you shot square in the book or head But they wanted him to suffer that was point didn't matter. No, I know what do you think overall though?

Like like it had been that we were talking about it. I've been hyped up, but I think I think paid off I think for the most part it paid off. Yeah, it wasn't really and this is where we go back to the genre when you're saying it's a Poor movie different class. Yes, I know because I don't think it was really that scary.

There's definitely I know you have to like the coming from to something not common. You're right. No, no, no. Yeah, absolutely not No, there's some cheap jump scares.

There's some good jump scares in it, but it kind of more reminded me of like a borderline Slasher flick. No, it's a slasher flick. That's like what it is But like a slash a fix fix flicks automatically get dumped into horror kind of like they're their own genre Like I think they're different because it's like I mean a feel house for example. That's Not slasher at all.

No, no, I think I think slasher is different because but there's there's horror and I see like so horror is the main title Yeah, but I think horror movies rely more on their story and your imagination keep in this table You don't chew big red and fuck you But yeah, like I know what you're trying to say and maybe originally they were the same genre But I think that there's enough slash flakes enough popular slash flicks that it's its own thing. It's some subgenre Don't be that's what you call it. It's completely Okay, we're going after 83 years. I'm sure you both millennials have to live with it.

We have our own podcast James My poor as millennial as it gets goddamn it. I'm educating people. Yes, and it's called a subgenre I don't think so. Yes, the genre is horror.

It shouldn't be a subgenre. That's my argument Whether you like it or not what it but slasher's can be really spooky. I think that you yeah, no There's the less spooky that slasher is all about that jump scare and the gore You go to see the kills. Yeah, and that's what we went to see and how many people died in this 16 I looked that up apparently there's 19 what yeah, that's a little shit Yeah, you counted 16 16 19 Think of is when they were at the gas station And like that was like in a car watching and like the other people pumping gas You don't ever see their bodies like you see Yeah, the guy in the garage.

Yeah, and the two podcasters. Yeah Well, you seem like beating the fuck up somewhere on the ground and it also depends on how many people were at the bus so I counted the driver The son driver the son the dad and there's I think one other body there. We caught yeah, so People yeah, obviously there's three people Somewhere in between but Yeah, no, I'm with you. I didn't know what more to expect from this, you know, I think it's a good slash movie like you said Yeah, I don't I think you should have a little bit more comic relief.

Our only comic relief was our friend Julian Julian Holy hell there is only the movie for like three minutes ten minutes off Need to be more we need more Julian little black kid Julian who one of the friends Allison's friends What's the name Julia? She was polite Yeah, she's babysitting him and she gets fucked up. Yeah, well Vicki And then Dave Yeah But Julian I kid so funny. He's like Dave and like you go dad Dave Yeah, so the kid obviously like sees Michael upstairs or whatever while he's trying to go to sleep Yeah, so he gets spooked so he runs downstairs to get Vicki and Dave and I guess I don't think at this point time He didn't know Dave was there for just got in yeah, so he's like yeah, and so he's like yeah He's like I saw someone upstairs like I'm scared.

He's like I want you to check it out and then Vicki's like okay Check it out And so Vicki's like whatever like she goes upstairs She gets fucking destroyed. Yeah, and then the kid Julian like goes back upstairs to check it out See, he's like Julian getting fucking wrecked and so he starts Julian so Vicki getting wrecked so he like turns around and like runs out freaking out You finally get to see like why the people slip all the time. It's a wool socks on a hardwood, dude Yeah, you're gonna fall ten times out of ten. Yeah, ten o ten.

And now you're dead. Are you happy? No, she could have made it. Fuck it.

Yeah, and I'm Dave. It's good thing Dave's there cuz he's gonna be here. Dave's gonna save today. Yeah He's feeling good.

He grabbed a knife from the kitchen. Yep, and he's gonna go defend to the Vicky. Yep. Nope.

Nah. Nope. I call this dev. Julian.

Julian was so funny. It's like right now that's David gonna die! And he's like no, and then you never really see like it ever again. Yeah, and you never see Dave again, and then Well you do.

You see him again. But then when Michael Myers is leaving the house, you see Dave got fucking shishkabob up against the wall with a knife. He got, it was like, it was like Michael was using him as like a pin on a court court. He's putting up a reminder.

Murder next week. Yeah. And yeah, I put him into the wall of Julian's house. I knew it.

I thought he was gonna have a nice dude. He never used to do it again. Feels bad. Oh, yeah, the cop is going around looking for him.

It's like ten minutes. It's so good. He's so sassy. He reminded me of the kid in role models a little bit.

Yeah. Funny that I think. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. Good timing. It's way better. Yeah.

Way ahead of himself. Yeah. I thought, I feel like I was expecting more from this movie. But then what else can I expect from this time movie and where they're how they're gonna do it?

They did exactly what is what you should have ever done. And they didn't waste any time. No, I think I looked at that wasn't actually like seven, six minutes. It's like a hundred and six minutes.

Yeah. So it goes like quick. Like it feels it goes pretty snappy. 45 minutes.

Very efficient. And like it just goes like once he starts mourning people, he starts mourning people. Boom. Another one.

Another one. Another one. Lori. Another one.

Yeah. Yeah. Pretty much. It's good for idea.

That's like kills a couple of fans. It goes on with hammers. He's got the knife. He fucking gets the fat kid on the Oh yeah.

He also stabs in the back. True. He almost the cops. Those are good ones.

Yeah. Stops on the dude's head. The doctor's head. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. It was pretty good. And it was just before like because a lot of these kills as long they were brutal like the people he was like smashing the bits.

Yeah. At the start. And I'm like, you know, this isn't actually as violent as I thought. And then he goes into the first house where he breaks in and just with the hands.

Yeah. Beats the fuck. Okay. Well, actually get back to that one because there's another one before that.

Right. Just smashes the head against the head rest of the chair and then stabs through her neck. That's after. That's after.

That's after. Okay. So that is the hammer first kills lady. That's where he goes.

Right. Okay. So that one because you can see all that it's all off screen. Yeah.

You hear the hammer. You hear the hammer hitting school. But as I was saying, like, Oh, this is kind of tame because I'm doing everything off screen. Yeah.

This is not this is not that violent. This is not showing a lot. You just hear a lot suggestive. And then and then you get the head bashed off the railing and it stabbed like right through the fucking head bash was completely unnecessary.

Which makes it even more like. Okay. Never mind. I'm just shut up.

I just enjoy it now. Yeah. Okay. We're there.

Yeah. We're there. Yeah. Okay.

So let's go back to that scene though where he kills the person with the hammer before he gets a knife. And then you hear a baby crying. Oh, yeah. And you're like, fuck, is he gonna do it?

Is he gonna do it? And he goes up the baby crib. But he's like, even in a serial killer. He's like, Nope.

That's my line. Well, same thing. He's in Julian's closet. That's true.

But earlier you saw him like choked the life out of a 10 year old. Is it true? Like, where's his line? Where's that 10 year old had a gun?

I guess. But he was in the car. He like choked him out like from behind. He pretty kills him pretty indiscriminately.

It's pretty violent. But I guess no, he snaps his neck. He snaps his neck. But still he killed him.

I'm done with the baby dudes. Yeah. But the baby was closing a threat. And the kid had something that he needed, which was the vehicle essentially.

Yes. But still, I think it's interesting that they included that in this movie to show that he has like, it's like a conscious choice. Kill a fucking kid. Yeah.

That kid might have been older than 10 or so. Well, he's a young teenage. He didn't kill preteen. That's just like 10 years old.

The kid was shitty enough. Okay. Julian was not shitty. He knew to get the fuck out of there.

Yeah. We don't know Julian's last name. He survived. What does that tell you?

He's black. That's my point. He knows the last name. He survived.

He survived. My guy flipping the genre on his head. This movie. It gets one place, man.

Hopefully seeing his babysitter get murdered doesn't send him down the dark path. You're talking about the kid's character. Yeah, not the actor. The kid's character.

It's really well from Zell. It's going places. I think it was good. The kills are fine.

The effects are pretty cool too. Like I said, the smash and pumpkins. That was pretty decent. You know what I'm just thinking of now?

When you googled it, was it how many deaths were in the movie? Or was it how many people that he actually killed? I don't know. Like how many people he killed maybe?

I think you're wrong. I'm going to go into that movie. I thought of two more deaths that happened in the movie. Technically one was by him.

But it was six year old him when he's killing his sister. I want to show that. Do you see that? I remember because she's got nice tits.

Oh, yeah. And then the other one was the doc killing the chief. Right. Okay.

So there's two there. What did you think about that twist? The twist kind of came out of nowhere. But you know he's about it.

You knew that he has a heart on for Mike Myers. He's this researcher that's come to a head. He's pretty much gone insane. Yeah, because he's fully obsessed with Mike Myers.

He's so obsessed and compelled to find out what's going on with this guy. He's getting nowhere. He pretty much says, oh, I know to be him. I must think like him.

And just that's when you realize it doesn't go anywhere because he's an idiot. He's trying to study Michael. And so he kills the fucking Hawkins. That's sure.

Yeah. With some fucking pen that pops out to like a trick pen that has a knife in it. Yeah, it's got to be a knife. It stabs the fucking stabs him up.

Just get some good. What the hell? Yeah. And he's like, oh, okay.

Well, now that it's such a good feeling. Or what a feeling it can't be replaced. I don't know. No, no, no, no, no.

He gets messed up fucking silly putty. Just stomp it out. It's not that with size 16 shickakers. Yeah, big feet, that man does a big feet.

I still don't know. Okay. I still think he was taking me taking it out of me. I was watching this because I knew it was a 60 year old man.

But as we said, old man strength. Crazy serial killer strength. Mental Institute patient strength. Yeah.

No, I know. Mix those all together. And like I said, the dude gets his fucking hand blown in half. I forgot about that.

He gets sliced. He gets stabbed. He gets diced. He gets shot in the neck.

And then he gets lit on fire. He got hit by a goddamn SUV doing a solid like 60 K. He's knocked out at least. At least he's playing apart.

He's playing apart. No, it's all it's spooky though. He's supernatural. That's what I'm saying.

They're like, oh, we'll just trap him down here and light him on fire. No, you've got eight guns down there. Light this dude up like a pinata, then decapitate him. Then shoot his head until it looks like the doctor said.

Yeah, figure it out really. And then if he's still alive after that, let him kill you. Just there's nothing you can do. And remember it really nothing you can do.

They're in a different personal world. Nothing. Nothing you can do. Still alive.

There's nothing you can do. Sultan burns bones. Yeah. Do it.

Yeah, the movie is that's pretty much the whole deal. Like the the the seller. That turns out that okay, sorry, before we get that the doctor that went nowhere because he got fucked up. That was a it was all those things just there was like a twist in the sake of having a twist.

Yeah. And then you had to be there. There was there was there to be obsession with him to help escape. Because he wanted to study him in an uncontrolled environment.

Yeah. He gets killed. He's like, oh, yeah, it was kind of horny. And then he gets fucked up.

Yeah, he doesn't after he comes out of that twist. He doesn't survive for much longer. No, literally. He's the next person.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Seriously.

The other twice is that the actual like the cell that was like the danger room essentially the lorry. The bunker. It was actually a prison cell that they can trap Michael and they trap it and they burn it all down. Yeah.

She's rigged up to after a little mount. Well, each room is actually a. Yeah. It's a little trap.

Oh, he's fucking badass. Yeah. Yeah. Crazy grandma with a gun.

Definitely cat nose. Yeah. Bad ass granny. That's funny.

That bothered me so much when that character Alison the granddaughter grandmother. Grandmother. Grandmother. Grandmother.

Grandmother. Say Laurie. Just say grandma. Yeah.

Gee mosa. It's just or whatever little millennial get like you some GMA. What's going on? Some swag.

Swag. No. Yeah. That's what they say.

That's what the millennial say. Okay. That's me the nine. Yeah.

They got two little guns, dude. Oh, okay. Remember? Yes.

I know. Remember? Yes. I know.

I know. We watched a movie. Don't even remember. But yeah.

So that's pretty much it. Pretty much it on the movie. Yeah. Can you think of anything else that you just liked disliked?

No. I mean, like it for it being in the slasher genre, we could use a little more Julian maybe just just to break up the breakup. Some of the kills. The kills were good.

Yeah. It's not really too much to knock on it. I think it followed the same formula. Like we've seen a lot of this before.

Yeah. More than so. Yeah. It was definitely a continuation of the film.

Yeah. For sure. It's more the same, but it's characters people know. And like so it's even almost like successful in the same thing, like a lot similar to the first like.

Oh, it is very similar. Very, very similar. Down to the babysitter, the boyfriend coming over. That's not perfect.

Child. Yeah. I know. Like in the whole homage.

Yeah. And like the sheriffs that were involved because apparently it's the same sheriff who found and it's just Michael or captured Michael or whatever. I guess I just watched Halloween 2007, not too long ago. Rob's on you one.

Yeah. And other than like it was like that, the main sequence where you know, Laurie is getting stalked by Michael and she has the two friends and all that kind of stuff. Yeah. That's where I'm thinking it's similar because you know, in this one, there's no backstory for Michael.

Michael and Laurie aren't related. No. So we still have those friends getting killed. Which they bring up though.

What's that? That then being related from like the other. Yeah. Oh, that's just the thing that the media.

Oh, it's like, wasn't he like his brother? Yeah. Like, no, that was just something that like the media made up essentially. So it's kind of cool that they brought that up because that was a down purpose as well.

So something like, yeah, for sure. There was some sort of link and it was now it's not genetic. Yeah. Cool.

Obviously. Yeah. I have to watch it until then. That's they get it a little more simply for the devil type thing as they go into a lot more detail with Michael's upbringing.

Who cares? Yeah. And just leave him a maniac. You don't care.

We don't need to know. Maybe the kid doing was fucking creepy looking, but it's not great. But this one's better. I would suggest watching this one.

It is. Yeah. Give it a watch. Especially this time of year.

Like, come on. It's Halloween. It's over folks. Check it out.

Halloween is out. How many spooky movies as you can. Which one? What?

What? You'll really? Jesus Christ. What?

You're on Nick's. What? You're Nick's. Okay.

Okay. And I see K-E-R-S. Okay. I'm just checking.

Man. Jesus. Hello. We think this podcast is a dude.

God damn. God damn. What, uh, what are those spooky movies they're gonna watch? Or should we watch for Spooky Over?

What are no nothing else is coming out in town for this week before Spooky Over? Oh, Spooky. Well, excuse me. I have to go back into the archives.

Go back into archives? To find some favorite movies. Hmm. Hmm.

Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm.

Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Um, okay.

Let's see what we got here. What's coming? Take a look. Take a look.

Take a look. What else? What else? What else?

Oh, Overlord. I've watched recently. That's the JJ Abrams produce one where it's gonna be pretty much like this in the design video games. Got you.

Zombies in World War II and shit. Go, go, go. I've got to find some other stuff. Oh, we saw a trailer for Happy Death Day, too.

Come on. Happy Death Day. The sequel. That's not coming out until 2019.

No. That'll be it. We'll see it. What?

I don't think anything. Oh my God. Let's go see Goosebumps, too. Nope.

No, you don't want to see that. Nope. Okay. Maybe we can go with the archives and think about something.

Yeah. And then that can maybe be like a bonus episode or something first week over. And then next week we have to find some spooky video for Halloween, especially though. We can do a Halloween episode just for Halloween.
