449. 4 Practical Ways to Stay Active When You Have No Motivation to Exercise

from Lose Weight, Live Free | Eating Healthy, Exercise, Faith · host Tara Josey, Nutrition Consultant, Certified Trainer

Let me ask you a question… What do you do when you know you should exercise, but you just don’t feel like it? You know movement is good for you. You know you’ll probably feel better afterward. You might even have your workout clothes sitting right there waiting for you. But you think… “I’ll work out when I have more energy.” “I’ll start again Monday.” “I’m just not motivated right now.” “I really need to get back into a routine.” And then a few days turn into a few weeks. Sound familiar? Here’s what I want you to understand today: You are not always going to feel motivated to exercise. And if your movement routine depends on you feeling motivated first, you’re going to be inconsistent. But that doesn’t mean you’re lazy. It doesn’t mean you lack discipline. And it certainly doesn’t mean you need to push yourself harder. It means you may be relying on the wrong thing. Because the goal isn’t to wake up every morning and somehow manufacture motivation out of thin air. The goal is to learn how to move your body even when motivation isn’t there. And the good news is—you can do that without forcing yourself through workouts you hate or using exercise as punishment for what you ate. Today, I’m going to give you four practical tools you can use to stay active even when you don’t feel motivated. These are simple strategies that can help you make movement a normal part of taking care of your body—not another thing you have to be perfect at. Because exercise doesn't have to be punishment. It doesn't have to be all-or-nothing. And it doesn't have to look like five intense workouts every single week. It can simply become something you do because you value your body and want to take care of it. So if you’ve been stuck in the cycle of “I’ll start Monday,” or you keep waiting until you feel motivated to get moving, this episode is for you. Let’s dive into those four tools and talk about how you can make movement a sustainable part of your life. And if you’re listening and thinking, “Tara, I know what to do. I just need someone to help me actually follow through,” I’d love to help. You can email me at [email protected] to connect with me about a discovery call, or head over to DietDitching.com to learn more about working with me. And of course, I’d love to invite you into our Facebook community, Lose Weight, Live Free, where you can connect with other women who understand the struggle and are learning to approach weight loss from a place of freedom instead of frustration. Now, let’s get into those four tools.
