In today's episode we continue our series on Plato. Here, we begin by considering Greece politics, life, and culture in the time of Plato. In particular, we focus on the state religion of Greece and its network of Mystery Schools, which were organized under the religious philosophy of the Orphics. We then turn our attention to the life and teachings of Plato, an initiate of the Orphic Mysteries. From this point on, as we progress through the rest of the chapter (with four more articles/episodes to follow), we are going to be dissecting various aspects of Plato's philosophy.
