45 - Audition (1999)

from There Will Be Duds · host There Will Be Duds

Odds and Ends: Andrew Garfield is taking a break from acting, which spurs on an all over the place cold open; we all were able to watch something that wasn’t our discussion movie this week! Nick started Succession, T.J. saw The Northman, and Travis watched The Alpinist, and we all say: good! We talk a little about method acting, which means of course we talk about Jared Leto. Feature Film: Takashi Miike’s horror cult classic Audition is our main dish this week. Er, main… doggy bowl… Most of it is a kind of cute, kind of creepy burgeoning romance story, before it devolves into something… upsetting. Almost as upsetting as the avenues our conversation goes down, a lot of which I probably shouldn’t write down here. Corn chowder with a special base. There. That’s all I’m saying, you can’t make me write any more. Next week's movie: Heat (1995) You can join the conversation every Wednesday at 7pm EST on Twitch and Youtube!
