45: "Room" vs "Dogtooth"

Meet Jesal and Rochard. We are the Transatlantic Rebels. In Episode 45, we both choose films with similar themes for a good old-fashioned compare and contrast. Rochard has chosen "Room" (2015) and Jesal picked "Dogtooth" (2009). We start off with a spoiler-free session for the first few minutes... But then dish out gigantic spoilers (you have been warned). There are plenty of similarities to discuss, as well as obvious differences. Watch both films, then listen to our lively debate - it was cracking fun to record. Jesal is from the UK, and Rochard is from America. We like to talk in depth about albums, films, TV shows and books. Rochard has a background in TV, acting, writing and many other areas of art creation. Jesal has a background in music: DJ, producer, artist, critic and other stuff.
