451. The King of Glory (Psalm 24)

Send us Fan Mail Psalm 24 proclaims the Lord as the Creator and rightful King over all the earth. Because He owns all things, He alone has the authority to rule and the power to sustain His creation. The psalm also confronts us with God's perfect holiness, reminding us that sinful people cannot stand in His presence on their own. The good news of the gospel is that Jesus Christ, the only One with perfectly clean hands and a pure heart, fulfilled God's righteous standard, paid the penalty for our sins, and credits His righteousness to all who trust in Him. The psalm concludes with the triumphant arrival of the King of Glory, pointing us to Christ, who conquered sin, death, and Satan through His death and resurrection. As our victorious King, Jesus alone is worthy of our worship, trust, and wholehearted devotion.
