463 Find Greatness in Gratitude

On your life's journey, you might feel empty at times longing for some sweet spirit rejuvenation; good for the soul. Don't run on empty. Find greatness in gratitude. Gratitude is a readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.  Recently, I spent time with elementary and middle schoolers. As I watched them and then watched the adults, to my surprise, the children had more action of gratitude than the adults.  One reason could be the constant reminders to use their manners; please, thank you, show respect.  But when we get "older", the etiquette seems to get tossed out the window. We may use it occasionally, but rarely. In the olden days, etiquette was required to learn --- there was a class you took. But now we use our etiquette when it serves us specifically. Think about it, when you need or want something from friends or family, you call on them. But how about not wanting anything and showing gratitude towards them with no strings attached. A written note, a compliment. Gratitude is this gem always sparkling, but we tend not to use it.
