47. Gender Inequality in Japan

In the first half of this episode, Jordan gives a quick overview of the Tanabata Festival that happens on July 7th each year, and describes how Japan is a little behind the times when it comes to handling surnames after marriage. Then in the second half, Michael shares a few more issues that he thinks are contributing to gender inequality in Japan, while Jordan questions whether or not we really need to have royal families in this day and age.
