Rebekah is a PhD Cultural Anthropology candidate currently undertaking fieldwork in the Peruvian Amazon. Building on 7 years of experience, her research investigates the function of altered states of consciousness in Amazonia. Her MSc (Cross-cultural Psychology) explored psychedelic ego-dissolution, and her Honours (BSc, First-class) transmission of knowledge in altered states. Rebekah has lectured in ritual theory, designed courses for environmental and cultural psychology, published, and received grants and awards for her research. When not in the field, or researching, Rebekah can be found at a beach or cycling around the bays in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
