#48 | How Trust Empowers Relationships with God and Others?

from Hearts+Minds · host Hearts+Minds

Charles Feltman describes trust as “choosing to risk making something you value vulnerable to another person's actions” ... that is, what are you willing to risk with someone? In this podcast episode, Catherine and Maire delve into this topic of trust and look at how it can empower our relationships with those around us and indeed our relationship with God. You might like to ask yourself, what's something you value personally? ... when did you entrust that item, project, or situation to someone? and if not, would you take the risk of trusting them with it?  We grow when we feel trusted.   But how easy it is for our trust to be eroded.  In today’s podcast we explore how we gain someone’s trust; by being trustworthy ourselves. The good news is we do not need to be perfect to be trusted. In fact trust and mistakes can co-exist. But trust cannot co-exist with double standards – one for me and one for you. We discuss how our religious faith can become the solid rock on which our trust is built; seeing Christ in another person is what energises our efforts.  It is an act of faith. There is no growth without risk and facing up to fears.  But it is worth the effort as trust is the oxygen for personal growth and growth in our relationships.   Where to find Hearts+Minds?Find us online at www.hearts-minds.ieSocial media:- Facebook- InstragramEmail us: [email protected] to our fornightly email. ------------Hearts + Minds Official website - hearts-minds.ieIG - @heartsandmindsireFB - Hearts+Minds | FacebookEmail: [email protected]+Minds events in Dublin, Belfast, Cork, Galway and Navan
