48 - Jan Rose - US-based Pilgrim & Veteran shares how the Camino heals & prepares us for life challenges

from The Camino Cafe · host Leigh Brennan

Send us Fan MailThis interview with Texas-based Pilgrim, Major (Ret) Jan Rose, US Army Nursing Corps, just humbled me over and over again. What an honor it was to be able to interview Jan after she walked with “Warriors on the Way”.  I didn’t know anything about Jan’s walk or life prior to our chat. Halfway into the interview, I just wanted to pass the mic to someone like Oprah as Jan’s story feels as if it deserves to reach an even wider audience.  During our chat, we discussed how The Camino helps with PTSD, and in particular, how it helps everyone prepare for future life challenges that will undoubtedly come our way as humans. Many of her stories about serving in Iraq,  helping a fellow Pilgrim during her walk, and what it was like standing at Cruz de Ferro with fellow soldiers are just a few that brought strong emotions up for me.  I hope you will listen, watch, and help me share her story with others.Warriors on the Way, a 501(c)(3) Veterans’ organization:https://warriorsontheway.org/To connect with Leigh:https://linktr.ee/leighbrennanThe Camino Cafe's intro and outro song is made possible with the generosity of fellow Pilgrim, Jackson Maloney.
