The Bible warns us to not seek a doctrine that only teaches what we want to hear. Instead, we should desire to hear the whole counsel of God even when it may be uncomfortable or difficult for our flesh. Often times when we hear something that is "uncomfortable" in the Bible, then that opens the door for us to learn and to improve our lives to live more righteously according to His Word. The only way we can improve in our life is by hearing the entirety of God's word - line upon line and precept upon precept - and applying the Word in every aspect of our daily lives.
