Here we go, number one. Tablebuds, Watch Radio, issue number 40, fucking nine. 49, nearly hitting the 50. And we can see it, can't we?
It's just there. It's just there. We're always touching it. Yeah, so issue 49, we've got quite a lot to talk about.
So we've got things like Tom Knox, Tripp Video, the shit of the Larger Bell shit, DC Shoes video, Danny Way, and some soapy shit as well. So let's play the theme tune. Let's get stuck in. All right, number one.
So here we go. We've got the full squad full staff of Tablebuds radio on today. We've got the obviously Me, Ryan, Dodger, John O'Nash and over from Canada. We've got Mr.
Will Hickey. Hey, what's going on? Full squad boys, full squad. Right.
So we're going to start with the Tom Knox video, right? Let's have a little chat about that. It's a little bit, I think in the middle of the month, I think it came out in the 15th of the month, but we've got to talk about it. It is, you know, the more you watch this video part, the more you're like, fucking out, the quicker is feet and how long those fucking lines.
That is the, I've watched this video probably about four or fucking five times now. And you're kind of thinking, you just keep going. You just keep going. You just keep going.
You had the same sort of thoughts in me on that? Yeah, it's impressive how long he keeps going. And it's weird because you recognize some of the, because it's all London. You recognize some of the spots, but they're like halfway through his line.
So I bet all the London locals are seeing that. It's like, oh, I had no idea around the corner. There was this weird little manipads that you could hit. Yeah, go to the corner and then he's hitting something.
It's like, should you be touching that? I had a little bit sketchy there. Yeah, what was your first impressions on that? What did you think of the Tom Knox?
Oh, yeah. To be honest, it's pretty excited to just watch anyway. I'm not, it's got a lot of good stuff. So I know it's going to be good, but yeah, just flowing through, love the raw London street lines.
Like John I was saying, most of us, I recognize most of the spots. That's nice. And then yeah, you get little surprises here and there. Yeah, yeah.
So like, I mean, let's just break this down a second. It isn't Atlantic drift video. You know, like how it comes up in thrasher is Atlantic drift episode 11, Tom Knox, right? Now, you know how we, we fall on that a turbo.
We prefer it to say Tom, not even though I know it, it's not in the drift. We always do it this way. If I can need to say Tom Knox, Tom Knox is Atlantic drift part issue 11 or something. I mean, that's where it needs to come.
You agree with that? Yeah. Yeah. Definitely.
It's a 10 minute video. Just him. Give him the name first. Yeah, it's a bit of a piss take, right?
You know what I mean? 10, 13, exactly mate. Got it in my notes. Check that shit out.
Very good. Yeah. So well, let's, yeah, we'll just get this started breaking down really. So it's the classic Atlantic drift start with the old jellyfish popping up and everything, but gives you some nice humour straightaway because obviously normally it says Casper Brooker fucking my carnal, I'll skateboards, you know, so it says basically normally, but this time just comes up to Tom Knox every time.
I did like that. I did like that. Yeah. And then you get the iconic red phone box straight away.
With that huge back lip. Exactly. Putting a little bit of non-diejec sound in there. It's a bit of a well-made, just behind it.
Put that little phone, that little phone kind of dial tone sort of shit in the background. Just to pull you in. Just to tell you. Yeah, we are telling you, look at that fucking phone box.
Motherfucker. That's what I say. This is in London. We're telling you.
Yeah, that back lip. And then, and then they get to do it again in the line. You know what I mean? So it kind of hits that back lip and then, and then, yeah, what was you getting?
Like a little, a little volley on the call now. Yeah. Frontside flip. So he already gets, you know, hides over right in the most of that.
And then puts a nice little switch here at the end of it. Just to finish it off. I always, well, you must, you got about to be on this one. A switch, it was a nice definition of a line, isn't it?
It's a clean fucking trick. Oh, yeah, definitely. Perfect line under. Frontside flip really nice as well.
Bit of an arcadey special right there, wouldn't it? You know what I mean? Just pull it around. Little pivot, yeah.
That's fine. Yeah, yeah. It was a right spot for a pivot, mate. You know what I mean?
It was a right spot for a pivot, mate. You know what I mean? It was a right spot for a bit. That's a right.
I will put it, the tune I do really like. It's a very rare shot, we'll get into that later on. But he doesn't always do it, and this tune apparently is called fight, fight, fight bite by Charlotte Blueie. So shout out to Charlotte.
It's a good tune. It works. It really works, but I'll skateboard really, if we're going to fucking break it down. Because that's what it is.
It's fucking vase too. You know, that's just how they do it now. When they should put a vase to it really, but, but it's getting too much money. It's getting too much thrashing money from these Atlantic drifts.
So what we're saying about that? You like that line, Jon? That work for you? Well, that first line.
Yeah. It works for me. It's just screams London, a bit of a grind, but big flat gaps in the middle of it. What more do you need?
Yeah, that is a theme in it. There's a nice little theme in the video of some nice black gaps, crusty fucking black gaps. So after this, it finishes the line. And obviously, Jacob Harris and Tom Knox together, there's gonna be some man crush fucking cutaways going on in these videos, which sometimes I work, sometimes I don't, it's a little bit kind of like gazing into Tom Knox's eyes and I'm like, what the fuck am I?
I thought I was watching some SSBS shit going on here and I'm staring into Tom Knox's soul. You know what I mean? What your thoughts on that? There's just a couple too many.
I mean, one maybe two is all right, but it feels like there's a lot more in this video than there should be. What are you saying, Will? Yeah, probably on the edge of it, I guess. I understand the cinematic value, you know what I mean?
But I'd rather those clips be more fun, you know what I'm saying? But, you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, I'm with you. I'm like, you know, half, could have it half serious and then half into a bit of a joke.
Yeah, it's kind of, I have a little chuckle now and again, I put a little chuckle in there. It not just gazing into my fucking armani eyes. I mean, like it just, there's just something about it that, yeah, I don't get me wrong. You've got to sell the skateboard.
I think it's the most important thing, you know, the reason why we're saying his name should be fucking first, rather than a advantage drift. I mean, it should be about Tom Knox, but do we really need to, because we see it at every fucking Atlantic drift video. He's not, not everyone gets, I bet your poor fucking Shire's in there. I bet you know, when's, you know, he ain't gonna be staring through his eyes as much as he is to Tom Knox.
Obviously, I think they're really good mates, isn't they? So I get, you know, he's given his, his mate a bit more screen time. But come on now, you know, just settle down on those fucking gaze and eyes. Let's move on, let's move on.
So what we've got next, have we got some, did he get some more lines going on? No, no, he gives us a little front board and like a, on a, like a gate barrier sort of thing. Perfect fucking front board. And then we get a switch hill flip back 50 over, like a little, I'm sure that's over, like a little bike, like a cycle path sort of thing, like you're talking about earlier, Johnny.
Yeah, it looks it. Yeah, like that, that was nice. Yeah, then there's a, yeah, cross the, cross the fucking line with the, starts with the, the fakey, fakey big. Yeah, I love that fakey big foot though.
I mean, are you getting up that obstacle? That fucking, that don't, that don't, that laptop don't shape thing. You getting up there? And off, because I reckon I could get up there, but it looks small.
So like the set yourself, the ready to get the fuck off and obviously you get off no problem at all. You get up there, Johnny? But probably not. I mean, if I did, I would lose all my speed and then would have nowhere to go when I'm up there.
Just pop the board up and get up there, just get off the board and say, yeah, play a ladder trick. Yeah, and then what we got, yeah, so it carries on, doesn't even, he's not even finished there with the, he goes up there, pulls it round with a switch from an A, E, feeble, shut out. And then, and then crescendo with the big, bit off the fucking dome. I mean, that was a bolts, big flip.
If I've ever seen one, doesn't land clean bolts, but heavy enough, you know, real nice fucking maneuver. Yeah, when you have that little time to set up, you would, you would take that, wouldn't you? Yeah, 100%. So most things where, yeah, you probably got a land on top of your foot pretty much in position, instantly ready to flick.
And we know that's one of Tom Knox's specialties, not mean, if he was a top, top, top, Trump card and he added special abilities, not mean, quick feet would be one of them. Yeah, would be one of them. Because you see those videos, he sticks out an Instagram, or any sort of shit. He does like three tricks in maybe five seconds or something.
You know what I mean? If you see those ones, he's like a little challenge. You can put some out and you're gonna have to try and call him or better him or whatever, and it's like fuck that. I mean, like I can do three kick flips as fast as he's doing like a front side flip switch front side flip and fucking, you know, very wheel heel or something, you know, he is quick with his feet.
Talking about quick with his feet, he gets the next line is the not only front side flip, and then it's like a switch, fucking switch hook in there. He fucking just absolutely hoofs down it and then down some stairs. And then the next one after that is, he finishes it off with a fakey down some fucking narrow, like a real narrow corner corridor of his stairway. And he's just showing, you don't need to do any flips or anything.
You just get down that fucking people can appreciate it. Yeah, he gets an acid drop, which goes a long way as well. Yeah, yeah, it does, yeah, correct. Is it a fakey or do you need to do it?
I thought it was a fakey. Yeah, I thought it was a switch. Oh, did it really? Yeah, switch them both of them.
Yeah, so switch acid drop and then a switch. Oh, that's a shame. I thought it was going to be up for us. It's a long hold though, when he's in the air for that second draft, it's a long hold.
It is a long hold. I don't know, it kind of tricked me. It just seemed like it was sucked up like a fakey. You know what I mean?
The way his front foot was, he was obviously just sucking up a little bit. Yeah, fool me, motherfucker. Anyway, so yeah, we've got the 50-50 Interbank I'm just referring to my notes in. Obviously, right, I can absolutely toss her 50-50 into a bank and I'll put crusty and brackets here.
You're going to help me out with this boys. I've got a video in front of me. So you missed the line out there? Oh, no, so you was right, Ryan.
In the second, Ollie, in the line or two afterwards, that is a big fakey Ollie. Yeah, there you go. We was just like about the first one. Yeah, so the one you're all about with the fakey Ollie, he does like a blunt on a wooden vent.
A blunt no slide. Yeah, and then he's powering through on the front foot and then he's just pulling it out. And then he's powering through on these like big, mossy slabs and then does the fakey Ollie. Yeah, I fucking knew I saw a fakey Ollie son.
I fucking knew it. But yeah, it was a nice skinnier set as well. Yeah, you're going to jump down that wheel. You got, I mean, is that something that floats your boat?
Or is that a bit too close to time? I can't remember how big it is. Oh, I definitely wouldn't be doing something like that fakey. It's got like almost like a ledge next to it.
Do you know what I mean? Yeah. When you land, yeah, probably not. Yeah, so let's get this next clip.
So I put 50-50 Interbank, right? Yeah. And then is it five? Yeah, no, that's just one trick, right?
50-50 Interbank or something. Yeah, so it's like a big square rail. And then he goes like over if he's in the right hand. Yeah.
And then it's those little tiny squares in the bank that he lands on. Yeah, so kind of like a central reservation, those sort of barriers. Similar to that. Not identical, because you can fucking grind those motherfuckers very well, but similar to that.
A bit. Yeah. And then it's into basically cobblestone on the other side. Yeah, like a cobblestone.
And then we've got the five boats out ledge, kind of like on a wall in it. It's yeah, I mean, that isn't super technical, but I guarantee you go there and you'll be like, do I really want to be fucking about with that thing? It's, you know, when you get up against a wall like that, I don't think it's one of those, that's why it's just five-oating. I mean, it's getting five-oating, get the fuck out of there.
Yeah. What else are you going to do on that that you're not going to get fucked up on? Not a lot, really. It's at a dodgy angle as well, because it's not quite.
Yeah, it's almost like an edge. It's not. It's not a 45 degree. Yeah, yeah, proper in.
Are we happy carrying on with the whole part, which we get to some favourites in it? So we just kind of get through some favourites in it. Let's get some favourites in it. So I'm going to stick in the straightaway.
It's a Nollie, sorry, Flip Nosemanny. This is over kind of like two cycle paths. So Flip Nosemanny, Nollie Hoof, over the second one. Nearly, nearly, nearly, in terms of control.
I ain't got the time stamp on that, but that one, that for me is kind of like, because we know, we know those slabs, you know, in England, those slabs ain't fucking smooth. And so it could be committed with a kickflip nose manual on curbs as well. So he's on the same level. He's not even going up to anything.
Same level, really. That's pretty fucking technical. Yeah. And that hoi, like you say, he holds on with their life.
Is that the 438 mark? Yeah. And then there's the other one, which is the, well, I mean, this is the fucking witch trick, can you? You know, not say, but he's on top of those lockers, those bike lockers, and he's riding up against and there's a bike shell in front of him.
And he just kind of rides up 50-50s on top of the bike shell and then pops over, probably like a maybe a seven foot drop on the other side. Again, that's sort of shit. You've got to get fucked up on. You've got to be so kind of inside your board and be, you know, know where that whip is and know how you can get fucked up.
And he's out of that as well. You know what I mean? There's a kind of little ridge at the top that you kind of make sure that you come up on anything. Yeah.
One of my favorite quick feet ones is that kind of rounded, I don't even know how to describe what he's on, but it's this kind of rounded ledge thing and he back 180s into a 50 and then levels it off. Yeah, I think that's kind of like a bank deposit box or something. I was thinking about what the fuck that is. I mean, there's no bank, it's literally just outside like an underground station kind of stairwell, just at the top of it.
That's what it kind of looks like. But yeah, there's the only thing I can think of, unless there's just some bins, I mean, it's a real fucking fancy recycled bins or something, you know, obviously granite or marble or whatever they're made out of. Do you see that? Well, you got any idea what the fuck that is?
I don't feel that. You've got a timestamp on that, John. Yeah, so it's, if you go to 444, it's the 445, where you want to be. Yeah, back 180, switch 50 and it kind of pops it up out on the way down.
It's got real short curved thing that he's on top of. The kind of whip's into. What the fuck is that? Right, could be like when you're walking, maybe into part of the underground, like a little side bit, you know what I'm saying?
Yeah. Let me just quickly give a little shout out to the, the second tune made a note of it as well, boys. So if anyone's out there want to know the second tune, which I probably like more than the first tune, if I'm going to be completely honest, this is Tinder sticks, but you're loving me. Nice little tune that was, again, works for the Isle Boys.
I mean, you can stick that on any of the Isle Boys and that'll work for them. And then there is a little nice clip. So Sparrow Knox, is that his brother? Or is that cousin like something like that?
So that 50, that rail, if you fucking pause it again, I ain't got the timestamp, it's just got my notes here, but that rail is huge. That is a big boy drop, you get fucked up on that. It is big, it's full commitment 50, 50, and it's like one of those rails where it's like, yeah, it's a big drop on the other side. But he has to duck underneath the thing to get to it first.
Doesn't he? Is that what he's doing? Yeah, he has to duck underneath that bar, that bar. And then Ollie, almost the same height as what he just ducked under to get on that huge rail.
Yeah, it's impressive, very impressive. Four, go to four, 16. Bit of a head fat, run up to that, right? Yeah, I mean, talking a head fat.
There's a lot of head bucks in this video, right? You know what I mean? There's one way Ollie's like into a bank which is on top of a wall. You see that one, it's not a prick, it's like a prick wall outside front of a fucking hospital or something, he's on top of it, got like a 45 degree angle that he goes into, then a wall.
Again, who's thinking about putting all four wheels on that shit and getting out of it? Yeah, yeah, you asked me to go up there, that is a fucking sure if I know that is, don't worry about it. Nah, don't worry about it. There's got to be another, there's always another.
All right. Yeah, if you've got, you've got to cash on you. You know what I mean, you've got cash on you. I could do a whip around and get the cash.
I got, there's a briefcase, Connor, pulp fiction style, you open it up. Grinding it up maybe? Oh, mate. That's way lower than I have to explain.
That's fair, that's fair. I'm saying, I want to do it. That's fair. I'll set up a go fund me for that.
Easy. Yeah. We can make that happen. Yeah, get a petition going.
You know what I mean? Send it to the House of the Parliament. Get right into the fucking, roll into this spot. I'll get into it, mate.
I'll just roll it. That's fine. I'll give you that. Yeah.
Because a kick for a bank going into that shit. If you ask me to kick for it, then there's more, because I know I'm going to break my collarbone. So it'd be a different price. I know I'd land the kick for the ponter on the ledge, on the bank.
That's not a problem. It's the fact that my left shoulder is going to be facing the ground and it's not going to be going anywhere else other than towards that ground. Yeah. That's probably going to be more like six grand, I'd say, somewhere like that.
Oh, we can make this happen. Let's just get stuck into that mirror cleaning shit. Will, you got any idea what the fuck that's all about? I kind of thought it might have been with, you know, it's 2020, obviously quarantine and people got to make sure they're cleaning themselves.
I don't know. What can it be? I don't know. Yeah, maybe just a bit busy.
Maybe he's just like, all right, I'm going to wear. It's just a good shot. Maybe he had this extra bit of a mirror. He's like, yeah, I'm going to fucking put this up.
No, like, do you know what I mean? Yeah, yeah. One of those things that happened. He's probably got something like that.
Do you know what I mean? Fancy mirror, nice, nice new mop. Anything else to come up to you? Will, was there any kind of like, I like to know?
I really liked the, well, it's near that I've got the time right now. It's a like a bank to bank street, like tile or like pavement hill flip and he does a back free down, some like brick stairs, then like a little cheeky front board, take it. Mm. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
That's cheeky as fuck. Join us if you can call the time stamp on that. Seven, it's a seven. It's not on seven.
Nice. I mean, to even say that in a video, but that's pretty decent, right? You know what I mean? If you're saying on an individual's video part, and you'll say, yeah, go to the seven minute mark.
That's fucking decent work, isn't it? That is decent work. Just say to someone that's not even the end. Yeah, still part left to some people.
Yeah, yeah, exactly. Exactly. Yeah, you could, yeah, someone else could have a fucking part in there. What else have we got in there?
Anything else popping up to you? John, how should we move on? We've got plenty of shit to talk about, so we can't, you know, stay with Tom all day. Because actually, we'll let the cat out of the bag, basically the reason why we're not going to talk too much about this video is because me and John have already done this, and it's a lost episode, basically.
It's never going to, it's never going to, but actually, to be fair, John knows the side of the conversation has recorded, mine ceased to exist. So, yeah, it was going to be an hour's worth of more or less silence and then me sort of going in every sort of 15 minutes. Yeah, so, yeah, if you wanted more from this, it's just difficult for us to carry on. Let's get to the turbo rating, shall we?
Let's round it off with the turbo range, let's get straight in. Where would you want to go? Do you want to go first mate, turbo rating on this? No, no, I won't go first on this one.
Oh, okay. I'll go first. I'll go first. It's a three.
I'm going in with, it's a three. I mean, it's a solid video, but I think it's a bit too long. It could do with sort of just trimming the fat a little bit. So, what you're saying is, you would give it four, because I'm kind of on the same sort of spectrum as you hear, that if it was more refined and cut some of the fat off, you'd give it four.
It's not the fact that it was just hard to, you know, it's a bit, it's really doing it, because you're saying, yeah, you should have cut that trick or you should have had yourself washing a mirror and all that sort of stuff. And I'll give you a four because of it. But I know what you mean. I do know what you mean.
So, yeah, it seems a bit more purpose behind it. Yeah, I mean, but the trick section they make is fucking four, isn't it? I know what you mean. I know what you mean.
We're going to be, you know, we've got to be ultra critical on this shit. He would have had a four in a bag, didn't he? He had to go and spoil it with washing a mirror. So, yeah, I'm going to back you up and I'm going to put three in there as well.
Will, your turn, mate. Yeah, I'm honestly a three. If we go in solid numbers, otherwise it'd be a 3.5. It would have been a four, but just wasn't, the trick selection there was just unreal.
So, yeah. Yeah, well, well, hold on top. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. Exactly.
Just a little bit too much air sometimes around it. Maybe some clips possibly, you know, just in there for the sake of it. I can't get it, but you know, there's a little bit of add-ons that you don't really need. You know what I mean?
So, yeah, yeah, well done. That landed drift, well done Jacob Harris, well done Tom Knox. Pretty decent, but just next time, come on. Come on now.
Just less of the, less of the, let's move on. So, what do we want to talk about next time boys? So, we've got, I mean, do you want to go to the, should we talk about the DC's 2020 video? Just recently uploaded on Thrasher.
Do you want to have a talk about that? Yeah, I can talk about that, yeah. I mean, I've not seen it, but yeah, I can go for it. Well, we've got the official DC ambassador and service watch radio broadcaster on Will Hickey.
So, I think we can get through it, Jonny. I mean, he's got the credentials for us. And I mean, I've got my DC issues on today as well. So, anyway, so let's get straight into it.
This video is, you see it, well, 20 minutes and 20 seconds, whatever. I mean, it's a 2020 video. That's pretty cool. Raw footage, mate.
Yeah, that's raw fucking footage, Jonny. You know what I mean? No pissing about nothing. Just anyone who's on DC and have got clips in the bag that didn't get out for some reason, you know what I mean?
Because obviously they got a big roster. They're in the video. And I did actually really like that, because you're kind of waiting for your guys. But the only problem with that is, is that you're waiting for your guys and you might get one clip.
You know what I'm talking about, Will? That's it. Who really gets one clip then? Quite a few of them.
All right. Yeah. I think Kayless. Kayless, what did he get?
Would he get switched crook or something? I can't. Yeah, yeah. No, I think it was just a front crook, wasn't it?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's it. It was nice having appearance, but yeah. Obviously sometimes you just want more.
Give us a tray. You know what I mean? Give us a switch here. We're not asking for too much.
Just give us the specials. And yeah, it kind of, you know, you can see who their flavour the month is. You know, you had someone like that, Jacko who's the element pro. Kind of holding it down over and element now, because everyone else fucking left.
These, you know, these are kind of, obviously element DC, it's all the same umbrella now these days. It's the same company. They're kind of, you know, they're pushing Jacko. And he had a lot of footage.
But again, some of that footage, I mean, it just weren't, it weren't my cup of tea. I'd rather see, you know, John Shanahan, obviously when Jago was there, you know, he's jumped shit now. But that's a style I want to see. And you did see a lot of big shoes in there, Will.
You know what I mean? There was a decent amount of shoes. Lovely shoes in there, yeah. It's good about a puff.
Yeah, exactly. I mean, you gave me, don't you, John? You know, if you're watching a DC video, you don't want to see anyone wearing stuff, you know, like almost converse like shoes. You know, that's obviously, it starts off with Evan Smith.
And he is more of that side. Evan Smith gets away a bit because he's a fucking certified mother. Right? You know what I mean?
No one can knock Evan Smith for being one of the greatest skates of all time. If he's not, you know, he's always going to be in the top 100 skates of all time, possibly top 50. You know what I mean? He is exceptionally good on a skateboard.
And he starts to solve with some nice power pushes, John. I mean, nice lines. It works for you. And then you kind of get sprinkles of people here and there.
But yeah, like I said, you know, get a Shanahan clip, a K-list clip. They're gone. They're back to back, I think they're clips as well. And they're gone.
And you're like, was that it? Was that it? And then you kind of get a couple of clips from, is it Carlos Icky? Is that the guy you kind of came on DC, Brazilian guy at the same time as Jago Lemmas?
Yeah. Yeah, he hits a nice shit. Yeah, he hits a nice shit. I haven't wrote him down, but he hits a really fucking clean shit.
And I always like his footage. He's just, is pure Brazilian, pure tech. He can just make anything look fucking good, even if it's a basic trick. I really liked this video.
I thought it was just clean fucking, you know, rough footage. Anyone who's anyone just gets their footage out there. I think it's DC's kind of way of, you know, just anything they've got in the archives, just getting out there. So I really liked it.
What you said? Yeah, I really liked it as well. It's good to see it. Like, Adam Smith obviously got to start and kind of wrap it up with the old Wes Kramer, which is always good, but definitely a must watch if you haven't seen it.
Good, good little skate hype. Yeah, I need a good, get my arthold again and watch it. Yeah, you'll enjoy it mate. It's, you know, it's 20 minutes long, right?
But it doesn't, once you kind of, because it's raw footage and you're just watching skating and it kind of changes enough, you're almost gonna wait for the next skate to pop up and it's just not too heavy. It's not heavy 20 minutes. I mean, it's kind of like, you just, you can work with it basically. You can even probably stick it in the background if you're playing something and just, you know, just flick over from time to time.
You might catch different bits. But anyway, let's go for turbo ratings on this. Obviously it's only me and Will that can kind of put it out there. I'm just gonna give it a, what am I gonna give?
It's a tough one because really, for 20 minutes, you know, I'd like to give it three because there are some good tricks in there. But if I'm gonna be ultra critical, it is everyone's throwaway shit. So I might have to give it two. It's a fucking difficult one, but you know what?
I'm gonna give it two because I know it's throwaway. There's a lot of throwaway in there. I'm gonna hand it over to you, Will. You see what you say mate.
I'm gonna give it a three overall. But yeah, you're right, throwaway in there. But I feel like for maybe some of the people who don't have as much shine, it's probably a bit more of their barefoot. So I'm gonna round it up to a helping three.
Nice, nice. That's a fair score. Well, as we're kind of chatting about DC, we've got Mr. DC, Danny Way's part that's just come out.
It's a Plan B part. And I do really like the way they put it out there, boy. So they put, it's basically, I think it's Danny Way's welcome home part for Plan B. You know, something like that.
It was the right order. Everything was the right order. I don't know if you noticed that on the video, Johnny. Oh, I noticed that.
You've seen this video, Will. Yeah, I have seen it. It's good. Yeah, I've got the mega ramp.
It's almost like a mini, well, I say mini, but it's not a standard mega, is it? No, it's more like a big old fucking flat bank. You know what I mean? That's how he's treating it.
I mean, the first thing that stood out to me when, like, out of all the tricks he's hitting there, you know, he gets, you know, let's spoil the alert, whatever. He gets to switch straight at the end, you know, nice little nods to the, to the past and everything. It's perfect. Yes.
The nose blunt. Who is nose blunt in that? Like, because there's no easy way to bail a nose blunt. Like once he's in, once he's in there, on top of that, I don't know how big that ramp is.
Let's say, if I can get 20, 30 foot or something, he's at top of that ramp in a nose blunt. There was no easy way to come out with that other than full commitment and land it. Because you're just, you're just over there. You know what I mean?
The pinch isn't easy. You know, you're just, you're, you're, what you do it. You're in and you're riding down. I, I, I even think somebody, you know, like, I think he does like a, like a knollie backside flip and that sort of stuff.
Real nice ones. But the nose blunt to me was like heavy, real heavy. Yeah, definitely stood out more. All of it is just, he kind of floats up there.
And you have too much time to think about the decisions you've made and what you're doing. Like, this is a little toy that I got for Christmas, 30 years ago. And now I'm in some Hawaiian Island, nose blunt in a 30 foot or more bloody quarter viper. How has that happened?
Right, Danny fucking, wait, that's the answer to that question. Yeah, just at the right vibe, you know, he's kind of, it's weird that it isn't a DC part because obviously, it's to us, it's, it's the next, you know, it's just an add-on to his other mega ramparts, isn't it? Yeah, that's what he kind of feels like anyway, to me, it kind of feels like, you know, the sequels. You know, you had the DC part, then you had the, you know, like an add-on DC part where you put a few more flip tricks in there and shit like that on that rainbow rail.
I'm sure there was like a second, secondary one, the original DC video. Obviously he's popped up now again with obviously it, but because it was in a black and white, it just had that same sort of vibe, but it's just weird that it weren't a DC video rather than a plan B, but I suppose if you're Danny way, you can just like whatever fucking logo you want. It doesn't really matter. Do you have that same sort of feeling to me?
Yeah, it really does feel like the sequel to the DC video. And I don't, I think it's helped even more that all you see is giant DC stickers and DC shoes because it's in black and white, that DC logo, sticks out like a sulfur. Yeah, was there any big plan B logos on that ramp? I can't even remember.
There is in the drop in bit, but on the quarter pipe, there's nothing. Right. I mean, what was the ender in, it was a switch tray, wasn't it? Or did he hit something else after that?
I'm sure he hit switch tray for the end. I'm certain it was kind of like a little nod to the old school DC version. Yeah, it is a switch tray, kind of switch tray transfer. Here's a question for you boys then.
Up the Euro gap, is that a frontside flip or frontside heel? Because that, you know, for turbo points, you know, there's a de-locker frontside heel, don't get me wrong, but for turbo ratings, if he hits a frontside flip up the Euro, he might get a notch higher. Could you catch that? Because I couldn't quite make it out on the, because it kind of cuts from a long shot to a close run, so I couldn't really figure it out.
I feel like it's a frontside heel. Yeah, I feel like it's a frontside heel as well. That was my, like, my first or what? Frontside flip and second watch, I was like, and what, you know, there's something telling you, you're seeing a wrong side of the board first or something like that, you know what I mean?
So it's a frontside heel, fair play, yeah. Yes. That's a frontside heel, yeah. Frontside heel.
I'm calling it up. Yeah, okay, fair enough. That's a plus up for me. Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, it was a frontside, fucking heel. He was like, I, when I was younger, I could hit a frontside heel. Now I haven't got any ability to do that whatsoever.
I just can't do it. I don't even think I could do a cheat one. You know, stick a reverb in there. I don't think I could do that.
I think, just don't think I can do it. Maybe if I did off a bigger block or something, like a drop that I can just have enough time to let it do, you know, do its thing. Let's complicate it and then hope for the best. But yeah, I don't think I'll be doing that.
All right, let's hit turbo ratings. I'll go first on this one. I'm just going to give it a three, just because of the, you know, the fucking size of the trip, you know, the ramp and the, kind of the danger, the danger side of skating a mega ramp and all that sort of stuff. I've got, you know, I've got to give it a solid number.
You know, it wasn't necessarily the greatest part of all time, or anything. But I think when you're playing, when you die something like that, I think you've got to give someone a three round one or two. So I'm going to give it a three. What you boys thinking?
Yeah, I see what you mean. The thing that is missing is that is the gap, the ramp, the ramp, the drive way. Like that is what the mega is. I don't know, because it just looks a bit weird.
All right, give it to you then. I'm not going to give it to you. All right, it's a two. Fair enough.
Yeah, fair enough. I mean, it's a two, I'm just saying, I'm giving them a high point because, you know, it's Danny Wake, I'm like, say, what, what, for what you say? Yeah, I'm giving him a three for the, for the front side here on this switch tray. There you go, there you go.
So you get, that's all right out of it. That's all right out of it. Anyway, let's, let's, let's get stuck into, I mean, we still got the, the sooty talk to talk about. You know, we've got to declare, declare the champion and all that sort of shit.
But first, there's a couple more things I want to talk about. We've got Elijah Bell pops up with Gilbert Crockett in a Vans video. I'm not going to go too, too in depth with this, but if you haven't seen this video, go and watch it. It's, you know, it's not, you know, they've got part each page, basically.
Elijah Bell gets fucking the ender for some reason. But I personally, I think Gilbert Crockett's, he should be getting fucking second part really, because he is, he is, in all due respect to Elijah Bell. And I really enjoy the skating. Gilbert Crockett's on a different, he's a different cat of the fish.
He's a better skating Elijah Bell. And I think he isn't getting as much, you know, he don't want to be a poster boy. So he's not getting the second part. Have you ever seen this video?
I started watching a bit of it earlier. And I was watching some Gilbert Crockett. Yeah, Gilbert Crockett. And yeah, I think he is, I prefer his skating to Elijah's.
Mate, he's just true fucking like New York East Coast. I mean, he was on zero back in day, mate, won't he? You know what I mean? He's made the rounds when he was younger.
He was on the zero squad or fallen. Same fucking difference. But he is so, he's just got the right trips, the right spot. He's kind of got like, he reminds me of John Shanahan, not in the way that they skate or anything like that, but kind of like just the way they hold themselves in their zone.
They're kind of in, you know, they're in their kind of trick selection. And they stick to it. They kind of, you know what he would do at that spot. Or you know, you'd like to see him do a certain trick at that spot and that's why you like it.
So yeah, I mean, let's, if you boys ever see now, I'll give a breakdown. It's a solid three. It's a really good part. Vans obviously just, you know, trying to get those boys together and, you know, get a good video out of it.
It is really good. Go and watch it. The real shit is crazy good. But I would say if Gilbert Crockett was riding for FA, you'd get last part.
So that's what I'd say about that. Let's move on to, so Elijah Bell had the clothes out the year part as well. That I've watched. You've seen that.
What are your thoughts on John? Well, I think I made a text to you this after I watched it. I didn't know him and Gilbert did a video about the cover. And after I watched it, I just thought it was Elijah Bell trying to be Gilfoot Crockett.
Like he's not the same Elijah that was on girl. He's got a bit too like rockabilly. If that is the term. Yeah, I know what you're saying.
I know what you're saying. It's a difficult one. It's a really, it's obviously, we don't know Elijah Bell. So, you know, fucking knows what he's like really.
You see that out there video that they had on Fresh or something like that. I think it's called out there. They've got a little series where it kind of pulls you into the cell that they're skater years. I mean, just to give him, he'll be a little bit more of a flavour of him.
He goes to see his mum and he's skating and he's surfing, that sort of shit. Yeah, watch that. Yeah, it's really good. It's really good.
But there's kind of, I don't know, it's weird. I can kind of relate to Elijah Bell in a certain respect with it because I think he holds himself in a certain way. Some people don't like him. I can really relate to it.
Can you? Yeah, he does. And I can see why. You know, he's in certain respects.
He's rather me at the wrong way. But I do like the way that he kind of just does his own thing. He doesn't give a fuck. And that's to be commended really more than anything.
I think anyone who does their own thing and doesn't give a fuck about anyone else. You know, in terms of what I'm doing my thing. And Elijah Bell is doing his thing. So it's hard to kind of knock him.
You know what I mean? 100% I agree with you there. I also understand what John is not about and the fact that it's just different. It's not what we would expect, obviously, like I said, we don't really know what he's been doing.
Maybe he's got some different influences and he's changed a few wardrobe decisions. But I can fuck him a fair play to him then. Yeah, well, I mean, fuck me. I would change.
I would dress whatever. If you want to give me an FABour to my fucking school picture on there, don't give me whatever you want. What do you want me to wear? Leopard's Skin, Tights, Sequence.
I'm there for you. I mean, what I need to do is a big pop shove now and again. I'm there. So yeah, get my name on that boy.
Anyway, so let's go to a right and shine. It was a very good part. Don't get me wrong. It was pretty fucking raw.
