CASE DEEP DIVE: The Long Island Serial Killer Case investigationThe case of the Long Island Serial Killer went unsolved for more than a decade. In December 2010 near Gilgo Beach on Ocean Drive, a shocking discovery - the badly decomposed bodies of four women were found, each wrapped in burlap.Victims: Megan Waterman, Melissa Barthelemy, Amber Costello and Maureen Brainard-Barnes would become known as the Gilgo Four.The case first started as a missing persons case of 24 year old Shannon Gilbert who was an escort from New Jersey. She disappeared after a out-call with a man in Oak Beach, near Gilgo.
