Join Nick and I as we talk about the inspiration behind his series of solo EP's, the various moon phases, and how I became aware of one of them (waxing gibbous) due to my wife and I seeing a pretty moon one night and wondering what kind it was. From here we dip into Nick really looking inward over the last few years and wanting to challenge himself creatively outside of what 311 does and We discuss how barebones the songs seem to be, with the emphasis being placed more on the lyrics, but that even the songs arrangements and more so the instruments used were very intentional to help evoke the sentiments Nick is conveying. We look back on 3 decades of Nick's career, the journey it's taken him on and if the process of making music that's more immediate will maybe find it's way into creating the next 311 album and more.
