49ers Preseason Opener: Five Takeaways from Titans vs. San Francisco

The San Francisco 49ers began their 2026 preseason with a narrow 19-13 loss to the Tennessee Titans at Levi's® Stadium. Despite the defeat, rookie wide receiver De'Zhaun Stribling and second-year player Jordan Watkins stood out as the most productive offensive weapons. The game saw Kurtis Rourke and Adrian Martinez split time at quarterback, though Rourke unfortunately exited early due to a rib injury. Defensively, the 49ers displayed a strong pass rush in the second half, recording multiple sacks against the Titans' offense. While the team successfully controlled the clock and gained significant yardage, they struggled to convert these long drives into touchdowns. Looking ahead, the 49ers will travel to face the Los Angeles Chargers following a week of joint practices.
