Jared reports on the Senate procedural vote on proposing abortion rights today. It isn't a vote on actual legislation, but rather on whether there is sufficient support to advance a legislation proposal (ie. codifying Roe v Wade standards) -- and there won't be, by likely at least 10 or 11 votes, nor enough to circumvent filibuster. Whether the discussion continues with alternative proposals remains to be seen as the political season advance. Minority Leader McConnell, looking beyond the midterms, pledges that if he becomes Senate leader again, the filibuster will remain in place.
