"On average nearly 25% of the cost of building a typical new single family home is attributable to government regulations". This according to NAHB (National Association of Home Builders) research. Approximately 14 million Americans are priced out of buying a new home due to government regulations. Colorado Secretary of State, Jena Griswold, announced a boycott of the state of Alabama in response to its most recent abortion legislation. Before making her public announcement of this boycott, she sent her news release to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains seeking their input and edits. Is the Popular Vote, an attempt to get around the Electoral College, constitutional? Billions in TSA security fees have gone to other causes. Money meant to help fund the TSA through a special security fee (September 11th security fee) has been diverted to causes not related to airport and air travel security. Bernie Sanders wants to reform public education and would start with banning for profit charter schools. This of course would not serve to improve education, instead it would harm education by removing education options. The debt ceiling will rise again. While disappointing, it is not all that surprising. We put bike helmets on our kids to protect them if they fall off their bikes but, my friends, there is a greater danger lurking around the corner.
