5-30-26 Pushing The Envelope: Music Decidedly Left of Center

from Pushing The Envelope: Music Decidedly Left Center · host Joel Krutt

Greetings! Scattered  throughout today's program are takes in both word and music of "Blue in Green", the classic Miles Davis/Bill Evans tune. (Happy 100th Birthday, Mr. Davis!)  That didn't start out being intentional until i noticed that the opening Laurie Altman piece was later followed by the similarly titled Morten Qvenild track.  I was then motivated to find a couple of more unusual covers of "Blue in Green", notably by Dave Fiuczynski's Screaming Headless Torsos & the classic lineup of Oregon.  These keep company with a plethora of new and less recent musics from multiple genres. Listen & Enjoy!!
