I would love to hear from you, just send me text and let me know what you think of the podcast.
Willie Mays put up some of the most impressive career statistics of anyone in the history of baseball. But he also lost two years in the prime of his career to the army during the Korean War.
He didn’t have to go to combat but he missed two years in the major leagues where he could have put up huge numbers, especially when you consider it was right after he won rookie of the year and the next two years he had over 95 home runs, and over 230 RBI.
But he never complained later in his career and he always appreciated the time he got to play in the big leagues. So raise a glass to Willie Mays on Friday as he turns 91 years old.
