THE LEGACY OF A GODLESS LIFE: (In the book of Obadiah)1. Prediction of Edom's downfall. (v. 1-9)2. Reason for Edom's destruction. (v. 10-14)3. Coming judgment and restoration. (v. 15-21)“This is evidence of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are also suffering— since indeed God considers it just to repay with affliction those who afflict you, and to grant relief to you who are afflicted as well as to us, when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels” 2 Thessalonians 1:5–7 (ESV) YouTube https://www.youtube.com/live/x0KojABkyFo?si=ibusrpnmM2_PBZ8jWebsite https://www.bethanybaptistchurch.com/sermons

What this episode covers
Our text today begins: “These are the generations of Esau (that is, Edom).” Genesis 36:1 (ESV) Genesis 36 is an unusual chapter, completely devoted to listing the “generations” of Esau. This chapter forms a segue from the death of Isaac (ch. 35) to the story of Joseph (ch. 37-50). At the end of Genesis we read about the death of the final Patriarch, Jacob. It might puzzle us to encounter this chapter today containing Esau’s genealogy, but we must ask “why is this here?” I believe the answer is this: God wanted us to consider how Esau's life ends.
