5:7 Church: Positive Dominant

from jonathan_foster · host jonathan_foster

I think the truest thing we can say of God is that S(H)e is love. And the fundamental characteristic of love? It's consent. It feels week, but I suspect it’s the weakness that makes it strong. The weakness of consent is the strength of love. And it’s the thing that can help us move from a negative to positive dominant mindset in the church. -Some resources I reference on this episode: Mary Douglas - Purity and Danger: An Analysis of Concepts of Pollution and Taboo, https://www.amazon.com/Purity-Danger-Routledge-Classics-93/dp/0415289955 Richard Beck - Unclean: Meditations on Purity, Hospitality, and Mortality.
