5 BIG CONTENDERS FOR FIRST OVERALL | 2025 Draft Breakdown

In this episode, we dig into the growing debate around first overall for the 2025 NHL Draft class. James Hagens remains the favourite, as we discuss in the opening segment, but as we've seen in recent years with Shane Wright, much can still change throughout the draft year campaign, especially with elite players pushing him for that slot. Next, we discuss the cases for Michael Misa and Porter Martone who bring fairly different strengths to the ice but who can both break open a game through dynamic skill and creativity. Finally, we wrap up the show by looking at two players who have already missed time in Roger McQueen and Matthew Schaefer but could still make pushes for the top slot come draft day, and we look at how injuries impacted the draft stocks of a trio of 2024 Draft prospects.
