Key quotes:

"Let's identify some of the forces, the ideas, the very weak signals we're seeing of things that might change, and let's explore how they might come together."

"We're trying to take them on a journey to stimulate their thinking about how we prepare for a range of possibilities, where might the gaps and opportunities be."

"Workforces aren't stupid, they understand the world is changing, they understand technology is going to transform jobs, they just want their employers to be straight with them."

"Schools and universities aren't used much in the evenings. There are an awful lot of people who'd like to do their learning between 8pm and 8am. The facilities are almost empty then, unused. We also have a lot of people in society who have the skills, the knowhow, the practical experience to do the delivery of that training."

"There's no greater priority in society than government fully funding education to create the workforce of the future and therefore to create the revenue streams back into government through taxation."

"We need [an] eco-system of partners that can be our radar."

The Grand Inquisitor (dramatic reading) Fyodor Dostoyevsky The Grand Inquisitor is a parable told by Ivan to Alyosha in Fyodor Dostoevsky's novel The Brothers Karamazov (1879–1880). Ivan and Alyosha are brothers; Ivan questions the possibility of a personal, benevolent God and Alyosha is a novice monk. The Grand Inquisitor is an important part of the novel and one of the best-known passages in modern literature because of its ideas about human nature and freedom, and because of its fundamental ambiguity. In the tale, Christ comes back to earth in Seville at the time of the Inquisition. He performs a number of miracles (echoing miracles from the Gospels). The people recognize him and adore him, but he is arrested by Inquisition leaders and sentenced to be burnt to death the next day. The Grand Inquisitor visits him in his cell to tell him that the Church no longer needs him. The main portion of the text is the Inquisitor explaining to Jesus why his return would interfere with the mission of the church. Our Rick and Morty refute the possibility of donation with hostility, pointing out that our Rick was the one to destroy it in the first place, and the pair leave.
