5. Christianity Over Culture: God Cares About Our Bodies Too

from Mitchell Berean Church - Podcast · host Jon Simpson

This weekend we continue in our series called CHRISTIANITY OVER CULTURE. We are working our way through the book of 1 Corinthians. This week we will see that though God cares about our souls, our hearts, and our minds, the truth is he cares about our bodies too. What we do with our physical bodies matters to God and so this week we focus on that truth. We have physical appetites and the truth is we can sin against our own bodies by the way we feed those appetites. God calls us to a higher standard when we put our trust in him and there is a reason. The reason is that as Christians we belong to Jesus and we are a part of God's family. This means that God wants us to live life the way he intended. If we continue to follow our culture we will be encouraged to feed our sin nature. This is destructive and will lead us away from God. Truly what we do in our bodies is connected to our mind and soul and so it matters what we do in them. Life in Jesus' culture is different; it's pure and right, it's healthy and good. Join us this weekend as we learn from 1 Corinthians 6:12-20 how we can honor God with our bodies. For Scripture, notes, upcoming events, & more: http://bible.com/events/49077855
