#5 David Hall- why he left music, psychological manipulation and finding your own worth

Whataworldpodcast.com - This is the story of David taking a sabbatical from music and the struggles of breaking back into the industry he left.  In this part he speaks on having to leave the music industry to take care of family situations especially with his daughter being psychologically manipulated by a sociopath.  How gaslighting is a psychological control technique.  How triangulation is used in a family dynamic.  The pains that come from holding boundaries.  How the psychological and physical abuse was not enough to have a psychopath arrested without solid proof.  How a white man with the right look was arrested multiple times just to get out on bail for all kinds of unlawful activities.  David talks about working his “Big Boy Job”- Working in a whole different industry managing and selling billboards and working his way down to becoming a worker clearing the line of site and putting up billboards on the side of the road. Changing vocations out of needing a sense of purpose and trying to maintain his family.  In the aftermath of needing to take time off from music, David lost 7 years of momentum. After 4 years of taking a break David is back in the music industry and ready for a new beginning.  David talks about learning the value of being vulnerable and not being prideful. He also speaks on learning to lean on your relationships- being a giver and a taker and being comfortable becoming the taker in times of need.  He touches on breaking the family dynamic cycles and his hopes for his son. The lesson he has learned from the past few years is understanding that his self worth used to be wrapped up in what he did and finding a new center to fully realize his true worth.
