Summary of the episode: Should the destruction of the planet be made a crime?  In today's episode Jo Youle talks to Jojo Mehta, co-founder and executive director of the Stop Ecocide campaign and examines whether the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court - that currently lists four crimes — be extended to include a 5th. That of Ecocide. Unlike suing and fining corporations - who gamble on being caught and put budget aside money for that possibility - making ecocide a crime creates an arrestable offence.    It directly, makes those who are responsible for funding, permitting or causing severe environmental harm - liable to criminal prosecution. The idea originally came from the late Polly Higgins, who sadly recently passed away from cancer.  We catch up with JoJo today to hear about how she, along with much support from her mostly female team, are carrying this crusade forward.
