#5: Engaging the Squad

Welcome to the fifth episode of Planning Phase Syndicate.  This episode will contain our Academy 101, Rebel Hanger Cadets, What Turns My Dials and System Malfunctions segments.   Here is the breakdown of what each segment contains.   Academy 101 This segment name is determining training for new pilots that allow us to explain rules or mechanics of the game that will give a highlight or deep dive into game operation. Covered on this week's episode, Charles talks about List Building. Charles dives into understanding the core types of lists that can be built along with what they each need to have synergy to make them good. He will also review the difference between Meta Lists verses Jank verses building original lists.   Rebel Hanger Cadets This segment is to help players understand list building mechanics and why pieces are used to build lists that are decent lists to fly either in tournaments or during a local gathering with prize support. Covered this week, Matt tackles a Rebel build that will help showcase their beef and unique building styles.   What Turns My Dials This is an opinion segment where one of the hosts discusses something that bothers them about x-wing whether it be a mechanic of the game, ship, rule or any card. Covered this week is Tanner’s opinion on Outmaneuver upgrade cards and how it wreaks havoc on lower initiative ships.   System Malfunctions This segment is to highlight different functions that have different interactions that are not as known but are interesting to learn about. Covered this week will be a look into how good defensive rerolls are when it comes to X Wing and some of the options that you may have to build lists with.
