5: Gay black porn star: You decide which races you won't fuck

from heretics. · host Andrew Gold

This is a special and important one because I got to talk to Race Cooper, a former porn star, who told me all about racism in the industry. Now a personal trainer and fitness model, Race worked for the illustrious gay porn company Falcon Studios, where he told me he suffered racism in many different forms. Amid the Black Lives Matter movement, Race signed off a tweet and an Insta post decrying the hypocrisy and the racial prejudice in the porn industry. He blew up in a big way and was even interviewed by Pink News. He still goes by his stage name of Race - which he initially picked as a test that he believes the porn industry failed. He’s a thoroughly nice fella, he’s good company, he’s bright and determined to help change things. And he taught me a lot about subtle forms of systemic racism and the highs and lows of porn. Heretic in the House Shalom Hartman Institute of North America America has a fascination with Hasidic Jews; they show up frequently in memoirs, in newspapers, and even on Netflix. But these popular depictions don’t tell the whole story; they just tell the story the public wants to hear. What they hide is a complicated dance between Orthodox Judaism and those who leave the community, and a web of stereotypes that trap Hassidim, rebels, and the public alike. In this limited four-part series, Professor Naomi Seidman takes us on a deeply moving journey with believers and heretics alike to uncover their hidden stories.Heretic in the House is a podcast from the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America. It's written by Naomi Seidman and produced by M. Louis Gordon. David Zvi Kalman is our senior producer. It is mixed by Cory Choy at Silver Sound NYC with theme music from Luke Allen.
