5. Jaws (1975)

In 1975, 27 year old Steven Spielberg brought to life Peter Benchley's controversial novel about a shark that wrecks havoc on a small island town. After being one of the hardest productions, blowing up the budget and time to film, it became, at the time, the highest grossing film of all time, and also the very first summer blockbuster.
