5 Lessons I Learned From 5 Years of Sobriety.

from Don’t Touch My Mindset · host Jay Chase

Today is a special day for me! It has been 5 years since I drank alcohol. It has been 5 years since I woke up in that jail cell. It has been 5 years of battling and trying to navigate life. It has been 5 years since I made a 5-year plan. In this episode, I want to share with you the five things I have learned in the past five years of being sober. I hope my lessons will help you, whether in your life journey, or the battle to sobriety. Artwork done by Claire @moonspade_magic Quotes If I want to accomplish anything, I need to learn to be myself. Emotions are going to come and I have no control over that. But how I respond in what I do with that and how I transmit that is key. Healing doesn’t just happen overnight. Addiction doesn’t just go away but it’s something that I choose to do every single day. We have to change the relationship that we have with our past. That it doesn’t happen to us but for us. In order to be the person that I am now, I had to go through that. We can only love to the depths and capacity that we love ourselves.
