Words of affirmation – using words to build up the other person. “2. Gifts – a gift says, “He was thinking about me. Look what he got for me.”3. Acts of Service – Doing something for your spouse that you know they would like. For example, cooking a meal, washing dishes, vacuuming floors, are all acts of service.4. Quality time – by which I mean, giving your spouse your undivided attention. Taking a walk together or sitting on the couch with the TV off – talking and listening.5. Physical touch-holding hands, hugging, kissing, sexual intercourse, are all expressions of love.[13:30] Why are they called different “Languages”? If you have to communicate with another person and you don’t speak their language it’s just pointing grunting and broken communication. No matter how hard you try to communicate love in your primary language IF you don’t speak your spouse's language it will not translate into them feeling loved. [14:30] Marriage Confession = We did not speak each other’s language.[20:20] Who cares... Love is love, right? No. Being sincere is not enough. We must be willing to learn our spouse's primary love languages and choose to love them in their language for a long period of time (without conditions).
