5. Punishment - Time to Bring The Hammer Down

from Fathers Fire · host Jody Sedrick

Nobody wants to punish their kids. This week we explore some thought on punishment. Do you bring the hammer down, give love or a combination of the two? I thought I'd share some creative ways my dad used discipline his 8 kids. Stand at attention Have sibling hold hands Have siblings hug each other Write sentences - engrain the lesson into their brain Extra chores around the house or special jobs Losing driving privileges One of the keys things is that my dad always taught us to apologize, to take responsibility, to treat each other with love, kindness and respect. Dad's remember that it's ok to apologize when you go over board. Take a walk, cool down. Remember it’s ok to be human. You are learning just as much if not more than your kids. Remember no matter what your kids do show increased love so that the develop love and respect for you rather than fear. Thank you for listening!
