5. The Lincoln Lawyer (2011)

The Lincoln Lawyer is a 2011 thriller/drama that follows a smooth-talking, super-slick defence lawyer named Mickey Haller (played by the smooth-talking, super-slick actor Matthew McConaughey). Mickey takes on a financially beneficial case involving a young, privileged millionaire named Louis Roulet who is accused of beating a sex worker; a crime that Louis vehemently denies. As the film progresses, it is revealed that Louis might not be as innocent as he wants his lawyer to believe as several dark and twisted secrets are revealed. This leaves Mickey in a very precarious position with his family threatened and his ultra-cool demeanour put to the test. John Leguizamo plays Val, a fast-talking bail bondsman that regularly provides Mickey with the best, most high paying cases including the case of Louis and the escort. Hosted on Acast.
