Welcome to the much anticipated return of Turbo Swatch Radio issue number five. Hopefully. Yeah we did it five. It's pretty spot on that we think it's five but.

Yeah we checked. We checked our tunes. So it should be right. Yeah.

But yeah so as Chris Roberts would say we're back. Yeah we're back. And? Yeah yeah yeah yeah.

Even more like Chris Roberts. Have a special guest. We do have a special guest and it's linking back to the nine clubs as well. Mr Roger Bagley.

Big time big time player. Link to everyone isn't he? Yeah it's a link to everyone. He's the king of the camera.

I'd like to call him. Or the king of the er there's no relation with like a cat or anything like that. Is that really? But everyone's that er.

Everyone's that he's the king of the camera and everyone's that er. Yeah that's yeah yeah whatever yeah one more about is what it is. No but how did you manage to run it because it was you that rungable this. There wasn't me I had no part to play in this.

So as you do but you after you get married sorry ladies. You over your honeymoon. So I picked California. I.

Just brought my board up. I didn't want to talk to the trucks. We were just like. Yeah.

Yeah. You can't get California. So I was out there. We were at this open space before it's kind of like a between like Marina de Rey and on Bennett's Beach essentially.

It's a nice bar and it's just just a proper. You know good shit. I'm talking about I picked to go in there. But you know it's an awesome place.

I didn't have a phone number. I know every time I go in there. So anyway I'm just you know just at the bar sucking down on these Hawaiian bears. You've mentioned these Hawaiian bears before.

Yeah yeah yeah. They're good. They're strong. They're cheeky like six or six point eight or six point eight.

Yeah they're big bottles as well. So I don't know. What's the standard bottle like 300 or something. It must be like a 490 bottle.

They're a big chunker. Anyway I'm there just you know get hammered on those. I think actually go for a piss or something like that. And then Kelly Hart just walks in and I'm like shit you know.

Oh my god. I'm keeping cool. And just a few deep size. I just want to get in at four or five of these six point eight.

So I'm kind of good. I'm not stumbled on my words but I've got enough confidence to kind of just go out there. So yeah I'm like Kelly Hart right. He's just right next to me.

I was like yeah. You know big fan of that and then actually turns up and I was like this guy is fucking 360 clip. Best in the business. Anyway you know he's blessing.

But he was super cool. And then he said you went round to other sides of the pool. He goes oh you know Roger's right. So just yeah come have a beer or something.

So I was like oh definitely doing that. So I didn't want to go straight. I don't want to go straight. I don't want to go straight.

I left it a little bit. Yeah I played it cool. Yeah I played it cool. Yeah I played it cool.

And yeah I mean this point this will be bullshit because I was absolutely hammered out my face. So Roger could probably tell you if you actually asked him like how this went. But in my recollection yeah went round there. Played a bit of pool with those guys and then just drank a load of pictures of beer.

So that was kind of that as anyway so I'm a good good shout and just getting hammered. Spots are going to stay the next day like what's going to happen. I mean the place where we stayed at the Wi-Fi was like yes some days and no most days. So it's like I got this message from Roger said oh did you still go for a skate or something.

It's like came late. It's like yeah nice. So I got that like at night and you asked me that in the morning. It's very good that you didn't because I was fucking hanging.

But I think he was as well. But anyway like whatever. Spots are all about doing it. He had servo sports.

He seemed down. Didn't have him when I was out there. But still chatting away. Man's just out of the whole like you're able to Skype sort of gimmick.

And then I thought well John has got to be on his sports. So I get him to do actually be there. So yeah came around my mind and we kind of get a style hooked up. Oh it was a get a style.

Yeah so sound I think I've done a alright job trying to fix it. But yeah so if you sort of question the sound that's why. Yeah but you know again don't worry about it. Yeah I mean the content is there so I won't worry about it.

Yeah it's Roger fucking back. Yeah yeah I won't worry about it. But yeah he's an awesome guy. I mean he was even all of the pizza mid in mid interview.

You know just said Papa John was just there. Yeah just turn up drinking a stellar as well. Yeah it was a good thing. I think that's what he drinks to be fair.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah but yeah I think there was a bit of lag on it. So sometimes the questions do seem a little bit kind of still weird because it's like you ask and then it's like two seconds later and then there's a reply and there's a bit of talking over.

But again whatever just listen to it it's Roger Bagley. So he's a wealth of knowledge and probably more of a ring of you. Oh yeah yeah he's just got so much knowledge about skateboarding. He's a super geek but it doesn't come with you.

No you don't realise it's like a PDF. That's what he's not super easy and it's like a PDF skateboarding. Yeah. Yeah.

So we're here with Roger Bagley, legendary videographer and what type do you want? Yeah whatever you want. Yeah. Okay so yeah that works that works.

Yeah so I mean we'll go straight into it in the nightclub. I mean it's probably the hottest thing at the moment in skateboard I'd say. How's it going? How are you finding it?

It's been going pretty well. You know we're always trying to keep it going and try to make it better and you know one day at a time. How many do you kind of have in the bag at one time or is it kind of like a... I think weeks and weeks sometimes like there's no point for like we get ahead like like six episodes and then like we'll fall back and right now we're going week to week.

And when you try when you're trying to get them done like what's your what's the latest you left at? We usually shoot them on like a Monday or Tuesday and then like like I'll prep everything. Chris will do the main edit and then we'll have it up ready for Sunday for next Monday. You know.

It's about five days. It's Chris that edits it as well. I'm just going to handle the main story. I'm just so done editing.

I'm over it. He loves doing it so. Just letting my back. Obviously I prep everything for him.

I get all the audio I'll sync to everything. I chop it down to get all the arms and arms and all the bullshit and then I'll just run wild with it. Then he'll hit it back to me and I'll hook up all the audio like mix everything and I'll do all the compression and then exploring it for YouTube. Cool.

We'll do a little nine club thing with you then. So as Chris always does. So how did how did they start for you? Where did you uh you know what got your interest in skateboarding?

Oh yeah. I don't even remember exactly what it was. But for some reason I think like my parents bought me like a room like a little BM exciters. Yeah.

Like I'm always like GT beta. You know. Like I remember my parents got me and my brother one of those. It all transled with like Todd's back up the camera.

Like we're like we can have like holy shit this is it. I want to skateboard. You know. You just found a trans world just out.

Yeah. It's funny because like there's only seriously like maybe eight people in my town that's hated. You know. So one of them just left the man.

Okay so we'll go into the video sort of things and so like when did you first pick up a camera? I kind of like fucked around like don't we learn like Uncle Adam? You know what I mean? You know he's always like all right.

I feel my friend Dave. I'm just trying to like just film a supposed video for him. Like when I was a kid. And we never said it out.

We just like in just a little just one thing and never do anything with it. And then years later I moved to Boston. I lived with Mike Bell. Mike Bell had a camera and I got always like film him.

Like whenever we just see it. I came in like Charlie Wilkins. Call me Cam. And then I started working over at Congress and I started going on like strips.

And we never had money in the budget to like hire a video art for Calis. And then like feel like Willis and like Kenny like he's just by camera because he's always done a film. You know and by camera and just started shooting and never back. You just kind of accidentally fell into it almost.

Yeah. It was just kind of like this is kind of needed. I need to do it. But before it's kind of like a hobby.

I always enjoyed doing it though. Yeah so when we went to something else we'll go to who are you're kind of your inspiration. You're the skates that you kind of looked up to the most when you're younger. You know who are the guys that kind of you idolized or when I was younger.

I think it was like one of my favorites. I always liked only Hawk. I mean what kid didn't really. Yeah.

I don't know. Like later on like Ed Templeton was like I was like Ed Templeton was like kid. It was just something about him like I was always like super sick. Like he was like you know he's a twin toys and probably one like he was a radus.

Yeah he's got an awesome style. So personally well you can be personally and can do kind of like your favorite skates but the tricks that you like the most. Yeah for yourself or for kind of like a legend that kind of just you know for example you know like Kelly's got like an awesome trade flip you know. Renowned with the frontside flip.

Is there any pros that you thought that would have like a you know. I'm doing like Matrix look good you know. I leave them on Ronnie Krigger does it look bad. True yeah.

It's a dumb trifle when you see like some like him doing like that was sick. Yeah. I think other guys are scared. It just depended on their style.

Just. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. I love trade flips but you watch some of like tyros and you're like ooh but they're trying to do it in your sight. Yeah.

Yeah. Yeah. And all the bands on the side are pretty much. Okay so let's uh yeah let's go on to your con like your career as a videographer.

Now for me personally the video that kind of hit me the most when I was growing up was one step beyond. It was kind of like that one video that kind of changed everything. It kind of you know the production value was like so much higher than anything else. All the graphics were kind of like insane for the time.

And the team was just like so solid. You know it's just yeah. Also the soundtrack as well. The original soundtrack before he got kind of messed around with it.

It was on the VHS wasn't it. It was the original and then when it went to DVD that got. Is that what it was like. Right.

Like a larger distribution you know. So we got to get a right for everything. So we didn't want to pay a shit to have money for like music rights. So we had Justin Frisch pretty much do a bunch of sound likes.

Yeah. Because it was Kenny Anderson's is definitely different I think. I'm pretty sure loads of them I think that's what I think. I only watched it.

I mean it just kills it. It's like I mean it's been edited for the original. For the industry and then like we waited a couple of months before we put the shitty version out. But what was it like working on that video.

I mean that was the first real project I did before that. I think I ever really shot on what shot before it was a Logic or 4-on-1 type shift. Well like RBC SD videos. Like that whole thing just kind of happened out of nowhere.

When I will have to get away from the winter in Boston. And I already worked on the video and Josh knew it was pretty much the lead dude on the project. And Kenny from when I worked at Congress and also playing with guys who were there to work on 4-on-4-on-frames. So I got down there like they were pretty much understaffed because it's just Josh with 20 dudes.

So I can't cover everyone. And basically I think Josh was always like hey you should extend your stay here and just like help us film whatever. So I did that. Will Herman was still pissed at me because we drove down there.

You know. I have a drive back. It's like so mad. I bet he still pissed me Tuesday.

By staying there or whatever. It was like everything happening so quickly. It was like worked on what's it beyond. Worked on 4-on-4-on-frames.

I think it was down there for like two or three weeks. And then like Felix was all like hey do you want to go to Ecuador. On a 4-on-1 around the world video thing and shoot in Ecuador. So I guess sure.

Go to Ecuador. We were there for like two weeks. From there flew back to Miami. Was there for a little bit and then I finally went home.

And then as soon as I got home, Jeff Taylor from audio hit me up. I was like hey dude, I heard you killed it down in Miami. We definitely like we need to be we need to myself like get the video done. Which we got to come out to California and help work on it.

I'm like yeah sure like when you want to come out there you can go tomorrow. I was like sure. So I'm just like gonna find the next day. Actually wait you want to go to Philly.

So I got to find you go to Philly. And I said I got to go to Fort Bayon's house for like two weeks. Then I got home. Then he called me again and said hey like which we got to California.

And then it was the next day again. Well after you go back. It was one thing after another. What was it like saying I've been outside for two weeks then.

That was great. I don't know if like three years or four years. Did you do the the band for one as well. I don't know my function.

Yeah. The VHS version I got. I didn't get the DVD. That was too far from me at the time.

Yeah right. Who did you film in there? Right. Maybe Kenny Stark.

Oh well. I mean I'm always crossing it going out. Right. I think Daniel Chris would always see us too.

You know and then like I was pretty much different. Yeah right. But I was like my intro to like all the girls and all the guys. Hey what's going on Kenny.

What was your favorite video? One of your favorite videos to work on yourself. You know one of your most proud of. I mean they're all pretty rad.

I know a lot of like Jeff Taylor from Let Me Work on like one set you on. So like that's one to always on the other. You know I really have like a favorite in that. How about a favorite video that you know not of yours but just a video that you know gets you hype this game.

What video do you want to fit in. Probably two average back in life. I think I'll probably watch one every day. That's my life.

So what was it anyone that's like really easy to film. Like you knew if you just went out with them you didn't have to worry about it. Oh yeah I mean Guy and Mark were always just like footage machines. They're also like guys probably the world's best professional people.

Like he knows what he wants to do. He'll get there early before you do. He'll be warmed up and then he'll get straight within like five minutes. You can go about your day.

Like there was like multiple times like well super pretty sweet. Hey you want me to find like ten or five. Whatever I'll get there. He's already warmed up.

Like Ben Cole and I will just be jumping over the fence. And he'll be like sit up. He'll get like eight tries or whatever you know. Like a lot of this stuff I'd lock with.

Like real quick because he was like already reading like the rubbish and like stuff. He was like they really got to shit handled right away. One of those days. No sick.

Were you there for his switchtrains? Yeah switchtrains. No switchtrains. No one's going down the hand.

We left it up. No. Do you know how long that's okay? Well not.

I think it's like a smith laser flip out. Yeah. Yeah. And there was a lot of just kind of tiktoks away.

That must have been just keep going back. Yeah. I mean he just wanted to get it perfect. That was like I think it went there three different times because the ground in that stuff sucks.

Yeah. Like that ledges in that gear at all. It doesn't really. It doesn't give me to like the city of commerce where it's at.

It's weird like it probably has a population of like 50 people but the rest of the city is all businesses. So like if anyone comes over there's a film or whatever. They're trying to like basically shake money out of people from like permits and stuff. Like we got a couple cops like I think he was in there but they wanted to like they trust me about like having like film permits.

So every time we go there it's always be some fucking nightmare. And the point is that people who own that building were totally cool with us in there on the weekends. Was there anyone like that was quite quite difficult to film? Yeah.

It's Robert's. Well just not motivated or just took forever to land this direction. This is Chris. But I was like five or two thousand two.

So I bounced down somewhere. I was like filming some of like Joe Bresinski because obviously he's doing real technical on manual tricks. Is he hitting them pretty early on? Was it taking a long time to get that sort of stuff?

You know the bad stuff is going to come to a real quick. If he doesn't get it real quick it's going to take forever. Right. Yeah.

Does a window help me going. If he doesn't hit in the first like 30 tries or whatever you're going to be there all day. And the fucking thing is he'll do it. He'll watch the footage and he'll be like I can do it better.

And it's like buys like 100 more tries than ever else. It doesn't again. And then he's like oh I like the first one better. I was watching his first drive for ideas.

It was a really old one where I think they were getting the... When the barracks got like the second little kind of reefer and he was going up like the Euro gap. I think it was like a... Ollie up nose manual, dropped down to nose manual.

And he like, Mollie Hill out or something like that. I think he got that like second try. And that was that was ridiculous. Like first try he didn't even get his manual at all.

He was like that's his code too. He didn't even get his sleep. So when we back on to the nine clover a bit. So what have you got planned for it?

You just carry on going it week by week. No week by week. Keep on growing it. We definitely want to expand on it.

We're just trying to figure out how to do it properly when we up as people off. Obviously we started like someone that's up merch. You can't catch shirts and stickers or whatever else. We'd like to expand on that to make him really good quality stuff and mugs still.

And then we're still obviously looking for sponsors. We have a deck already built. We have a truck shopping around and going to someone like Stella or a controller or a cine-bun. And trying to get something from them.

But we want to try to take away from... We don't want to make money off skateboard companies. They already heard enough. We want to try to help them and support them and whatever way we can.

We can make money from people outside of skateboard who are trying to break into our industry. We'll take the money. That sounds good. Sort of win-win for everyone then isn't it?

Yeah try to make money. Have you seen the... we were just watching it a minute ago. Have you seen any of the battle talks?

Yep. The last one with the cull business. Chris just kept doing the back and forth dance. That puts him stitches.

The length of time that you did it and it was like, is he seriously doing it? He carried on and he kept going for way longer than I would have expected. He's coming to timing. Those two things have worked out quite well.

Because of their job connection. They're quite good friends or hang out a lot? No, no, no. Whatever they are all around the game.

They're not like best minds. This is a hanging audience. I was like packing glassy boxes and ran away. That was a good match.

They see when I go skating or a girl chugging. Have you done a bracket for battle barracks? Who's your pick? They're all good, I mean.

I'm not even sure. I mean, I'd like to see PGA there. I think Justin had a damn big chance. See that one.

That match up was... I didn't see that coming at all. I mean, you kind of should because Justin just lands everything bolts. But it's like, yeah, it just wasn't Diego's day that day.

Because everything wasn't... I don't know if you're super nervous or what, I don't really know. Because Mike might be kept saying he's a bolded ankle. Yeah, he must have a bolded ankle.

He must have a bolded ankle. I think we're thinking Shane and Neil. I think a lot of people are saying Shane and Neil. I mean, he's due one.

You've got to do it for sure. Yeah. By the way, Chris Colux, against Boozness. If he wants to turn it on, he can turn it on again.

If he doesn't skate, he'll go over. He's not like hungry for it, you know? I feel like Shane would be hungry to get that money out. Yeah.

Yeah. So, have you got any other projects apart from the nightclub at the moment? Yeah. I always have something going on.

Like me and the Kid Eric No. Yeah, you wanted to know about a trophy. Are you buying the trophy? Oh, yeah.

How much? How much was it? $6.8. Not too bad.

Between you. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Oh, okay. What about Ryan? What about myself? Yeah, it works.

Is it a cooler trophy or is it just a pretty run in the middle? It was a fucking spring. It was a Valentino's like, sugmatic. Yeah.

Okay. I think that's pretty much, that's all we need to really ask you. I think that's, yeah. Yeah.

Yeah, that was awesome. Yeah. Just for that. Thank you.

Not so Roger. Catch you down the road. Right. So that was Roger Bagley.

Pretty good. I enjoyed that. That was a good time. Yeah.

So, hopefully everyone else enjoyed it. Yeah. It's been a, it's been a long time to get this one out. So.

Yeah. We've kind of been busy. Yeah. We have been busy.

Life has gone away. Yeah. Yeah. Like work is kind of real work.

Yeah. Yeah. So, if it goes to plan, which it should do, uh, jump and ship is what we're going to be talking about. There's been a lot of it this year.

Too much of it? Probably. Yeah. Probably.

But it's hard to say who's to blame and who's to whatever. But we'll get into that. So we'll talk about people changing sponsors and. You know, you know the people we're probably going to talk about.

Yeah. You know them. Big names. Definitely big names.

Big names. Yeah. There's a couple of real big names in there. Yeah.

But we'll get into that next time. Yeah. Tune in next time. Amazing.
