5 Things You Should Know About Adoptionism
from a worthy manner | exhort - encourage - live Hosted by Krist Norsworthy, Katie Norsworthy
Adoptionism claims that Jesus wasn’t always the Son of God… that He was just an ordinary man adopted by God at His baptism. It even uses Scripture. But it misses the truth in a big way. In this episode, we’re unpacking 5 things you should know about Adoptionism. What it taught, where it came from, how the early church responded, and why versions of it still show up today. If you’ve ever heard someone say “Jesus became God,” this episode is for you. We’ll look at: 1️⃣ What Adoptionism actually taught 2️⃣ Why it spread in the early church 3️⃣ The Scriptures it misused (and what they really mean) 4️⃣ How the Bible refutes it 5️⃣ Why this ancient heresy still matters today The early church fought hard to defend the truth that Jesus is fully God and fully man. He is not one or the other, but both. Understanding these early heresies helps us guard the same Gospel today. “In Him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.” — Colossians 2:9 If you found this helpful, consider subscribing for more theology, apologetics, and biblical worldview content. 📺 YouTube: https://bit.ly/AWMyt 📱 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/aworthymanner/ 📱 TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@aworthymanner #Adoptionism #Heresy #ChristianApologetics #ApostlesCreed #Theology #ChurchHistory #JesusChrist #Athanasius #EarlyChurch #BibleDoctrine
