from Flight to Fulfilment with Ratika Seth · host Ratika Seth
Send us Fan MailWhat if I make the wrong decision? What if the relationship doesn’t work? What if I leave and regret it? What if I start the business and fail? What if something happens to someone I love? And perhaps the most frightening one: What if I finally get what I want... and then lose it?Two very small words—“what if”—can create an entire future inside your head. Suddenly, you’re having conversations that haven’t happened, experiencing losses that haven’t occurred, and solving problems that don’t even exist.Meanwhile, something very real is slipping away: the present moment.Hello beautiful soul,Welcome back to another honest and deeply reflective episode of the Flight to Fulfillment Podcast, where we explore emotional awareness, self-worth, and the hidden patterns that quietly influence how we experience our lives.I’m your host, Ratika Seth, Life Enhancement Coach and founder of the Freedom Divas Hub, a community where women reconnect with themselves, rebuild self-trust, and create lives rooted in freedom, self-respect, and conscious choice.Today, we’re talking about something almost all of us do. We think ahead, anticipate possibilities, and try to prepare ourselves for what might happen next. There’s nothing wrong with that. Thinking about the future helps us make better decisions and prepare for genuine problems. But there’s a difference between planning for the future and emotionally living in a future that hasn’t happened. And that’s where “what if” thinking can quietly take over. You wake up in today, but your mind is already living in tomorrow. You rehearse what you’ll say if the conversation goes badly. You imagine what you’ll do if the relationship ends. You worry about whether your business will succeed before you’ve even given it a real chance. And because the mind can always create another possibility, there is no natural finish line. One “what if” simply creates another. What if this happens? And if it does, what if that happens? And then what will I do?Before you know it, you’ve emotionally lived through an entire chain of events that exists nowhere except inside your mind. And there is a cost to that. The coffee in front of you goes cold because you’re somewhere else mentally. The person speaking to you gets only half your attention. A perfectly good day doesn’t feel particularly good because part of you is waiting for something to change.Sometimes we become so focused on protecting ourselves from a difficult future that we stop experiencing the perfectly ordinary present we were trying so hard to protect. And perhaps that is the real cost of constantly living in “what if.”It doesn’t only create worry about tomorrow. It takes something away from today. So in this episode, we’re exploring 5 ways “what if” thinking quietly steals your peace, confidence, and ability to be present—and how to stop emotionally solving a future that hasn’t happened yet.More Power To All!Follow me onInstagram Facebook YoutubeLinkedInFor any information, write to me on [email protected] know more, visit my website www.ratikaseth.comMuch Gratitude!Ratika Seth
