#50 - Jos Strengholt, anglicaans priester, voormalig Egypte-correspondent (S01)

‘Ook de Koptische Kerk is een echte uitdrukking van het lichaam van Christus’ In Onderweg praat Elsbeth Gruteke met Jos Strengholt. In de jaren negentig was hij bijna onafgebroken te horen in nieuwsprogramma's op de Nederlandse radio. In die tijd was hij journalist in Caïro en deed hij verslag van de Golfoorlog. Daarna werd hij onder meer ondernemer, maar werd ook doctor in de theologie en anglicaans priester. Nu reist hij nog elke maand terug omdat hij bezig is met het opzetten van een opleiding voor kopten. Hij woonde bijna twintig jaar in Egypte en maakte ook de rellen van de afgelopen jaren mee en liep mee in demonstraties. De Koptische Kerk heeft zijn hart en in het gesprek gaat het onder meer ook over zijn kijk op deze kerk en de manier waarop westerse christenen naar deze broeders en zusters in het Midden-Oosten kijken..
