His early exposure to Los Alamos National Laboratory ignited his passion for STEM, leading him to join SHPE during his undergraduate years at the University of New Mexico in the late 1980s. Leonard credits the SHPE Familia for helping him graduate and land his first job. In this episode, Leonard discusses his pivotal role on the National Board of Directors, where his skills in documentation helped shape and grow the National Convention. He also shares the riveting story behind the creation of the renowned Engineering Design Challenge.
