50 years under the covers after bedtime with Fantagraphics
from Meet Me Here · host KUOW Puget Sound Public Radio
Seattle's own Fantagraphics is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. That's 50 years of comics, graphic novels, and counterculture media to look back on. To mark the occasion, we got in touch with artists, fans, and Fantagraphics staff to hear what they love most about the publisher. Plus, we spoke to Eric Reynolds, the vice president and associate publisher who identifies as the company's former "corporate shill and paid apologist." He's been with Fantagraphics for more than three decades, yet he said he doesn't feel like he's worked a day in that time. There's not a formal RIYL this week, but you can support Fantagraphics for the next 50 years by visiting their shop in Seattle's Georgetown neighborhood. Check out some of the biggest names they've published over the years, including: Peter Bagge Daniel Clowes Robert Crumb Emil Ferris Gilbert, Jaime and Mario Hernandez Trina Robbins Joe Sacco Carol Tyler Jim Woodring Help keep KUOW's local podcasts going strong!
