51: Three Things We Can Learn from Jesus’ Mother After the Death of Our Own Child

Since Easter is in just a few days, it seems like a good time to look at Mary, Jesus’ mother, as a parent who lost her child. I had never taken the time to see Mary’s life through the eyes of a grieving parent. But as I began to study it out for this episode, I was amazed to discover, based on what are told about her life, how many ways we can relate to Mary as a bereaved parent. Even beyond that, at first glance, it doesn’t seem like there is much in the Word about Mary as a grieving parent that could help us much. However, if we look a bit deeper, there are three important things we can learn from Mary’s life, that most of us can apply to our own deep loss.
