52 - Highest 2 Lowest

A music mogul, a kidnapping, and a moral conundrum, all with a Spike Lee twist. As the Doggett Brothers review the latest Spike Lee joint, our wildly differing opinions make for one of the most contentious episodes yet. Whereas some of us enjoyed the risks Spike took with this remake of the 1963 Kurosawa film High & Low, others found it to be one of Spike’s weakest films to date. But there’s one thing we all agree on: Denzel Washington is still a master of his craft. We discuss everything from the unique score and some head-scratching plot points, to Jeffrey Wright’s performance and one of the funniest lines Denzel has delivered in a minute. Give it a listen for a contentious but lighthearted discussion! Highest 2 Lowest is a 2025 crime thriller directed by Spike Lee and written by Alan Fox. It stars Denzel Washington, Jeffrey Wright, ASAP Rocky, Ilfenesh Hadera, John Douglas Thompson, Dean Winters, Princess Nokia, LaChanze, and Ice Spice.
