His ophthalmology training includes residency at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio and a Glaucoma fellowship at the Byers Eye Institute at Stanford.  His areas of interest include combining cataract with minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, differentiating high myopia from glaucoma, using advanced imaging modalities for earlier detection and evidenced-based medicine for more precise treatment of glaucoma. He enjoys connecting with his patients on a personal level and catering each individuals treatment plan to their own level of disease and situation. Dr. Nguyen has been trained to comprehensively treat and manage all glaucoma in a variety of ways including medication, lasers, and surgery. He also enjoys performing cataract surgery to help restore vision for patients.
